Lol, Trump was the one who bailed on debates in the first place. He isn't champing at the bit. He is just lying to his followers that he is.

 

TDS is not a real thing. It's not a condition extant in any medical journal, psychiatric or otherwise. No mental condition that is valid will have meaning only to one side of the two political parties. It it were valid, it would be clear to anyone.

Therefore, it's a rhetorical device created by the right that functions as a thought-terminating cliche. TTCs are rhetorical devices designed to curb critical thinking and kill the conversation, and they are propagated by demagogues (such as Trump) who do not want people to think critically, and when exposed to dissent, they use thought terminating cliches to kill the conversation.

So, instead of going through the trouble of actually engaging someone in a thoughtful debate, which takes work, a republican will just say 'that's TDS' and therefore they don't have to bother debating, that it's TDS settles it, or so the pseudo logic goes.
