Ikr. Islam was created to counter Christianity. The Jews have forever been the middle man between the two. Whichever side is on top, they will have the Jews full support. Me thinks that idea in the post you replied to was from a crypto pagan perspective, masquerading as a Christian perspective, trying to sow discontent between Muslims and Christians, as a self proclaimed Christian Zionist. The irony is that the two times (Iberia, Germany) the Jews and Ashkenazis were wiped out was both from so called Christians.
True - it was an attempt to end our military occupation and support for the SA government. That government is horrible by anyone's standards, and can not be opposed while the US military resides there. The plan was to make our presence too expensive for us.
Those rockets were mostly caught by the "Iron Dome". They can't even be aimed. Comparing that to the siege of Gaza is unbelievably ridiculous. The siege IS war - a war that has lasted for decades. Plus, the refusal of Israel and the USA to bother with finding a peaceful solution is not the fault of Gaza.
The US is a permanent memeber of the UN security council from which all forceful action comes. We have veto power and have used it to protect Israel's humanitarian atrocities against Palestinians in both Gaza and West Bank. You call the UN "flaccid" - but that is because of the actions of the US to ensure the UN takes no action. A better argument can be made that it is Israel that is led by wicked hearts. Genocide? The slaughter of doctors, nurses and patients? The bombing of apartment buildings in the middle of the night? Israel is targeting the civilians. Their rampages don't have military purpose - they target homes, hospitals, water/sewer/electricity, universities and schools. They dropped a munition from a drone on a children's playfield while children were playing. A day or two ago, IDF troops were told that there are already too many prisoners, so the IDF should just shoot the Palestinians they capture - which ARE civilians. They bomb the tents of refugee camps near Rafah where Israel told Palestinian civilians to huddle in order to be safe. And, we provide the bombs and the political protection of our military threats and our vetoes. The world is turning away from Israel. Their acts can not be tolerated. And, remember that they are doing this to steal their land - as they are doing in West Bank. The Likud party of Netanyahu is Zionist, and their charter is that Gaza and West Bank rightly belong to Israel. Palestinians will live in Palestine.
Probably flyboy56 got this idea from Wikipedia: Amin al Husseini was a Palestinian leader famous for inciting pogroms in Palestine, who run away from Palestine to Germany helping Hitler to convince Muslim to fight for Hitler: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amin_al-Husseini And here what Islam is saying about Jews – taken from the 1988 Hamas chapter: https://avalon.law.yale.edu/20th_century/hamas.asp So I think Israel should blame not IDF for the failure of Oct 7, but Israeli gardeners who did not plant enough Gharkad trees.
Palestine recognized the permanence of Israel YEARS AGO. President Abbas has worked toward negotiated resolution throughout his exceptionally long presidency, working WITH the IDF to support nonviolence. He applied to the UN and thus became subject to the various arms of that institution, as he searched for a negotiated path. He worked with President Bush on the Bush "roadmap". The path of negotiation has gained absolutely NOTHING for West Bank. And, the USA and Israel have focused on supporting Israel's decades of war on Gaza. For decades, WE have supported the siege of Gaza. WE make the bombs they drop on apartment buildings in the middle of the night. WE support the slaughter of those in hospital beds and the doctors and nurses who work there. WE support the use of starvation as a weapon of war. WE support the ongoing expansion of Israel's theft of the land of Palestinians in West Bank.
Well, there is different version to Gaza saga: In 2005 Israeli army left Gaza. In 2006 in free elections people of Gaza elected Hamas, who in its chapter promised never make peace with Israel and fight to destroy Israel and to replace Israel with Muslim state were everyone will be free according to the Sharia law, especially women, gays, lesbians, atheists and apostates. Gaza received billions dollars from UE, UN and Qatar, which Hamas (according to people of Gaza wish?) invested not in infrastructure, education, hospitals or water and sewage treatment, but in attack tunnels which ended in Israel, underground tunnels for manufacture of arms and arms production. From time to time Hamas sent suicide bombers to Israel, here is one typical Palestinian hero: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wafa_al_Bass Because of Hamas attacks on Israel, Israel insisted on verifying that there are no arms in any product sent to Gaza, which was obviously human rights violation - Palestinians have the right to explode themselves in any part of Israel and right to purchase artillery and missiles for peaceful bombardment of Israel. And after Oct 7 peaceful murder, peaceful rapes and peaceful kidnaping, Israel without any reason attacked Gaza - what a shame!
I've never heard this version - that Muhammad's revelation was created to counter Christianity. It seems unlikely to me. The Qur'an holds Jesus and the Bible in a central position of importance. That's closer to Christianity than it is to Judaism. Also, he went to a cousin who was a well educated Christian who knew the old testament as well as the teachings of Jesus. This was after the first council of Nicaea, but they may have seen the gospel as more strictly the teachings of Jesus. There was no enmity with Christianity that I've heard of in the revelation of the Qur'an.
It should be crystal clear that the tunnels of Gaza are defensive. They are the only element that ensures Israel's failures in attempting to conquer Gaza. I have never seen any analysis of how Gaza spends its money - nor accounting for the fact of Israel's ending of Gaza's economy. It is true that during the last decades of Israel's war on Gaza, Gaza has had pathetic weapons with which to defend itself.
And why did it fail ? Read about it. The PLO recognized Israel….for a while But HAMAS did not and never did. They started bombing the **** out of Israel Nope, not by Hamas, never happened. ….they were elected by the Palestinians and they promptly started bombing Israel. Osler accords folded. You can’t recognize them one day, then not the next. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oslo_Accords
I didn’t see Hitler mentioned anywhere. Without technology, z Hitler would have been a stain on the shoe of his neighbors…He developed superior technology….for a while. Then the US got involved…The rest is history Being prone to evil action means little if you can’t exercise it. There are some really despicable govts. Don’t we work like hell to keep nukes out if their hands ?
Nonsense. There hasn't been a question of Israel's permanence. Yes, the military wing of Hamas has fought back against the siege of Israel. Of course, they have crappy untargetable rockets, while Israel cans just keep Gaza in an open air prison and bomb then as they choose.
Without a reference, every single one if them. That’s how science works. You hold people accountable. You can bet all you want, you’d be wrong everytime.
If you want to discuss this topic, you need to do some amount of investigation. That's the way it works in science, too.
Permanence is not the same thing. Jordan and Egypt used to not recognized Israel. They decided is was better to recognize them, and trade with them after Israel kicked their asses. Now, Jordan even aided Israel in the Iran rocket attack.
Does this sound like a Siege ? Through the Jerusalem Law of 1980 and the Golan Heights Law of 1981, Israel has granted citizenship eligibility to Palestinians in East Jerusalem and to Syrians and other Arabs in the Golan Heights; Arab citizens of Israel - Wikipedia
Hamas is evil, because they are Palestinians. There are no Palestinians that the US views as worthy of support as humans - other than some who live here and live under our public disdain.
They are not allowed to live where they want. They are certainly not allowed to live in the home they left to escape war until it's safe - an international law transgression. They don't have the same immigration rights - for family members, for one example. Israel has moved to make Jews have higher station than non-Jews (including Christians) wrt the law through modification of their laws. They are not offered citizenship when Israel subsumes their land by force - an international law transgression. They claim they are interested in a single state solution - from Jordan to the sea. But, there plans for the Palestinians there is to kill them or drive them out - an international law transgression. They are absolutely indiscriminate in whom the kill in Gaza. They count the bodies as fighters, regardless of evidence. As one expects in a genocide, they kill anyone and everyone.
Performance is more important than political blather. But, Israel is isolating itself in the ME through its genocide. When things are calm, economic trade has more importance.
