I'll answer your questions when you answer mine. Don't you wish someone like my daughter had been onsite at Uvalde, after the cops had decided to let the shooter commit mass murder inside their perimeter? If not, why?

 

I'm not aware of any training for slaughtering Children in school.

Do rightists ever ask themselves why Americans must be trained and licensed to operate any heavy vehicle but not operate a firearm? If your answer is because the 2nd allows any mentally ****ed Americans to easily purchase firearms with no training or license because Merica, that's the issue.

 

If your daughter had the guts to enter the halls and other classrooms without getting herself or other Children killed, absolutely. But something tells me she would just stay camped out in her classroom until the shooter entered and hoped she got a kill shot. No offense. Fear takes over. Normal folks aren't John Wick.

The remark about my daughter roaming the halls illustrates how clueless you and your ilk are about the real world, and the planning and training required to secure a soft target like a school, with limited resources. Actually, your John Wick jive did that already; the roaming the halls blather just reinforces it.

My daughter and her armed colleagues will categorically not "enter the halls." Armed teachers are not trained to be cops on patrol or soldiers hunting down the enemy. They are not intended to replace armed security or locked doors or a school resource officer or security cams. They are a last-ditch supplement to the primary security infrastructure, to be deployed when all else fails. Armed teachers represent the final phase of the "Run, Hide, Fight" doctrine. They are the last resort, not the first. At my daughter's school, the plan consolidates students into one or more designated secure rooms, with multiple armed staff prepared to repel an active shooter should he successfully breach the barricade. Only now, they're able to function as more than human shields awaiting the slaughter.

Those opposed to measures like that strike me as not just wrong, but evil.

Yet you refuse to ask yourself why only in our country, we must simply accept arming untrained teachers and ask them to deal with an active shooter because nobody wants to do what needs to be done. And no, I am not talking about banning firearms.

Re: "arming untrained teachers" - assuming facts not in evidence. My daughter's training for this duty is - and continues to be - intense. Portions of it are more rigorous than the Sherrif's own deputies go through, principally because it's so specific to the layout of the school. One of her colleagues washed out. Not because he was rejected, but because the live-fire CQC training persuaded him he's not cut out for it.

My daughter & her colleagues volunteered because they all take the security of their students seriously. You may skeptical, and that's fine. That's a you problem. Those unwilling to take responsibility for their own safety and the people they're responsible for are nothing more than victims waiting for the hammer to fall.
