“I’ll find you in criminal contempt for the tenth time,” Merchan said in a stark tone. “It appears that the $1,000 fines are not serving as a deterrent. Therefore, going forward, this court will have to consider a jail sanction. Mr. Trump, it’s important to understand the last thing I was to do is put you in jail. You are the former president of the United States, and possibly the next one as well.”

Trump keeps ignoring the judge’s order forbidding him from speaking publicly about witnesses and jurors in a menacing way, something the former president keeps doing anyway on social media. Merchan last week fined Trump $9,000 for nine separate violations of a previous gag order—a step he only took after making repeated warnings.

The judge is making threats in the hope of compliance but I will be surprised if he follows through — and even more so if he is actually arrested.

It was clear from the onset that the Orange Stain was going to push the envelope with respect to the gag order. Based on past gag orders that he has violated and the complete lack of significant consequences, Orange has no restraint.

Now, his calculus is, will forcing the judge to send him to jail be good PR for him ? That is the only equation in his evil little mind.

So much for respect for law and order. MAGA types and most Republicans are about to burn that bridge. Never again will they occupy the high ground on the law and order plank. Hell, this might even erase the memory of "defund the police" !

Circumstances matter and all judges know this which is why he still allows him to speak about Bragg. However there are things he is not allowed to speak about as of now that he continues to speak about or direct others to speak about that I feel he should be able to considering his run for presidency. Also considering the fact that Trump operated in these regions for years not seeing this kind of scrutiny until he got involved in politics which makes this whole thing very politically motivated.

 

They will never jail him in the trial. The judge knows this, as does Trump. Jailing him would make him a martyr to his sycophants, and thats bad for America, and in turn make America look like a third world craphole.

We didnt jail Nixon, and we wont jail trump. The best anyone can do is neuter Trump and thru a felony conviction stop him for running for POTUS again.

It doesn't matter what jailing Orange would do to his followers: they're voting for him anyway. What it might be is the last straw for any undecided voter for whom law and order is important. They would abandon the Orange felon in droves and vote for the un-indicted candidate.

Trump has a gag order on attacking family of court members and the jury. He can talk / attack everyone else. Why is this so difficult for him to control himself? Trump will not stop until someone gets killed.
