Happy Cinco De Mayo! Does it have national sovereignty implications for both the US and Mexico? Will you be drinking a margarita:

I dont know. Celebrating winning a fight against the French? Kind of like Lia Thomas celebrating beating the girls.

Yes, for those interested Mexican independence day is September 16. The Mexicans don't really celebrate Cinco de Mayo but they definitely celebrate Dieciseis de Septiembre.

It was more than just winning a fight, they kicked the Frenchy’s out of Mexico. Cinco de Mayo is just another excuse for Americans to guzzle alcohol but it means mucho mas to Mexicans.

It has very little meaning in either MX or US. It came and went and most people didn't even realize that it happened.

If I recall correctly from Jr High history there werent many French in Mexico and they lacked the supplies to wage war. To this day there are many Spainards in Mexico.

Regardless it was a victory for Mexico not the U.S.

Is that why we have millions of Mexicans crossing the border illegally to come to the US?

I thought it had more to do with peddling Coronas and margaritas at TGIF.

Are you suggesting that the left would refuse any excuse to quaff a few? You are very much confused.
