Ban Circumcision - Part 2

The moderator said that "Ban Circumcision" had reached the 500 post limit and to start "Ban Circumcision - Part 2" to continue.

So in our last episode, I said:

Wow, all this foreskin discourse.

But what's so awful about letting the boy decide when he's 18 or older whether or not he wants to go under the knife?

A very good point, but I suspect the pro-circumcision brigade would not like 18 year olds being given the free choice. "You want to do what to my junk with that knife?" Like how many would take up that attractive proposition? Circumcision would die out in a single generation.

 

I consider circumcision to be a barbaric procedure, but as long as I can protect my own sons from this senseless mutilation, I don't care what other people do. They're not hurting anything that matters.

 

I'm still wondering how it's of anyone elses business if a parent decides to circumsize. If they are going to ban all "mutilation" , I still would say it's not their business...but at least I wouldn't laugh at the inconsistancy.

Ear mutilation for earrings, nose, tongue, bellybutton...and plenty more...all fine because we stick jewels and posts in them?

Tattoos...again, just fine.

Do we need to put a diamond on the circumsized penis, or tattoo it up like a snake for these people to stop seeing an issue?

If you are against Circumcision, cool...by all means don't do it, noone should ever force you to. However for those who do opt for it, why not just mind your own business? Noone is being harmed, and it doesn't concern you.

 

I agree that all little girls should be snipped.

 

And that is your choice, if not harmful it's not my business.

 

Isn't that a copout? Like protecting your daughter from female genital mutilation, but saying it's OK if other parents do it to their daughters if they want to?

There are reasons other than Religion for it (Scientific)

 

There are some health benefits to circumcision; personally, I'm glad my parents had me cut right after birth. I certainly wouldn't have gotten the procedure done at 18.

 

The health arguments go back and forth. Meanwhile, there probably isn't much risk to a kid keeping his foreskin from infancy to when he's able to make a decision for himself.

 

Female circumcision is worse. Even then, I don't care what foreigners do as long as they don't do it here.

 

I agree. And I doubt if a woman would voluntarily agree to that procedure either.

 

Chicks told me they would never kiss something that looks like an anteater. Some guys from the wrong side of the tracks just miss out I guess.

 

I've never had a problem with it. Women always say they love yours best.
