Why would it matter if the membership is leaning one way or another?
Any number of new members are signing up at any given day, and none has a gun held to his/her head.
If more left leaning members are banned, it may just be that they have more of a tendency to not follow the rules, or that their not following the rules is reported more often. None of this is involuntary or forced.
Its up to the individuals to remain a standing member, or risk being banned by constantly ignoring rules.

 

What happens is, because there is an unbalance between the two, one side just gets swallowed up. If I make a thread dedicated to bashing conservitivesm without using facts, most of PF will angerly come back. Same thing but with Liberalism, most of PF will agree with it. Having more right wing, makes it harder for the left to get what they want to say across.

 

I don't notice that website is leaning one way. Only because the people on the left are getting banned rather frequently. It's not helping the case that this is a Conservative dominated website. Like when people abandon their political party and switch to the other side because it's "dominated by right-wing Conservatives" or "Infested by left-wing loonies." Well of course if you abandon your side then the majority of it will be run by the partisans.

The left doesn't have a hard time getting across what they want to say. They just have a very poor why of conveying what they want to say in a polite manner. They always have to take the time to insult or berate someone.

 

Huh? Go check the link you just posted. By my tally, 32 people in that poll consider themselves "left wing" and 20 posters consider themselves "right wing". The largest group were people who don't want to have anything to do with your right vs. left BS.

 

Well, I don't consider myself right or left of American politics but I guess I would be considered left and a nuisance, yet I've never been threatened with a ban.

 

A room for error would have been that some on the rightwing didn't vote in that thread. How do you then explain what the mod said then?

What do you mean? It seems that you want me to accept an appeal to authority fallacy. A mod is one person with one opinion. That opinion carries no more weight than a member who joined today and only has one post.

Simple, more people joined the Quorum than did the Underground... 181 members in the two clubs combined out of 55,000 total members. Do you find that statistically significant?

 

The groups were founded about a year and 1/2 ago. Something tells me that 55,000 didn't join PF in that time.

 

I don't know about LPU, but The Quorum was started Feb 19, 2011 - SIX MONTHS AGO.

You're right. But although they have aggressive animal cunning and strength of numbers, one non-Rightie is worth 100 Righties.

I always miss the left wing people who are banned or are so incensed at the views here they stalk off or lose it. A lot of them are Euros and although the Euros bash each other constantly, there is still common ground.
