WASHINGTONA report published today revealed the Obama administration has a record of deporting nearly 400,000 immigrants last year, many for minor traffic infractions. The record level of deportations is a moral catastrophe for our nation, said Deepak Bhargava, executive director of the Center for Community Change. The current deportation practice is separating families, driving breadwinners out of jobs, and sending a statement to immigrant communities that America is not a land of opportunity and fairness. http://standing-firm.com/2011/07/22...-impact-on-families-as-a-‘moral-catastrophe’/
Standing-firm has an obvious agenda. Where does the 400,000 claim come from? And if it is true, it would be called, "A Good Start."
If people are being deported then then there is no "fairness" in keeping someone in this country who is illegally and improperly here. I give Obama credit in this one single area (though it's likely he's unaware of this going on).
Aren't most wetbacks separated from their families?? The message that we should send to illegals is that it is a felony to be in this country illegally.
For an illegal to work for a company (not cash under the table), they must have broken one or more of the following laws.
42 USA Senators ask federal prosecutions of adult pornography Nearly half of the members of the U.S. Senate are urging Attorney General Eric Holder to step up federal prosecutions of adult pornography. In a letter sent to Holder earlier this week, 42 senators encouraged Holder instruct prosecutors and FBI agents to counter what the lawmakers called "the growing scourge of obscenity in America." Anti-pornography activists have noted with alarm that, under President Barack Obama, the Justice Department has not filed a single new obscenity case anywhere in the country "We write to urge the Department of Justice vigorously to enforce federal obscenity laws against major commercial distributors of hardcore adult pornography," the senators wrote. "We believe it is imperative that the Department, with cooperation by the FBI, investigate and prosecute all major producers and distributors of adult obscenity. We need your leadership." We know more than ever how illegal adult obscenity contributes to violence against women, addiction, harm to children, and sex trafficking. This material harms individuals, families, and communities and the problems are only getting worse," the senators added. http://www.politico.com/blogs/joshg...or_more_pornography_prosecutions.html?showall
It's just a ruse by Obama to make it look like he is serious about doing something about illegal immigration. These small amounts of deportations make his amnesty proposal (comprehensive immigration reform), which he's been pushing since he has been in office, look better. Plus he already ordered "so called" non-criminal illegal aliens to be left alone.
It is about to stop/ Obama cares more about hispanic vote than the law http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/aug/18/new-dhs-rules-cancel-deportations/
Don't like it? Make sure you vote Republican in the next election or we'll have 4 more years of Obama.
