That is shocking. I can not imagine what the insurance losses on that are going to amount to. Oh, and good thing that is not your pick or you would have gotten a ration for having plastic lawn furniture.
You just gotta pick up the pieces and start putting your life back together. Side note: How dare you find a funnier picture than me!! Permaban!
for fairness people on the east coast never experienced an earth quake, the last one was in the 1900's it was very traumatic and even more for those few unfortunate to be having a bowel movement during that small window of time...
Granny says, "Dat's right... ... it says inna Bible dat inna end times, before Jesus comes back... ... the good Lord gonna shake the capitals... ... inna last twelve months the capitals o' Chile, Peru, Japan an' now the US... ... been shaken by earthquakes... ... so all ye lefty, lib'ral, gay-supportin', terrorist-sympathizin' yankee media types... ... better repent or ya gonna be feelin' the brimstone of the lake o' fire when He comes back."
whats the best way to protect from an earthquake other than the door jam? for tornadoes its the basement bathroom.
The best way is to not be inside. Hard for a building to collapse on you when you are on the outside of it.
Some NYers tend to get skittish when buildings start shaking. I wonder why. On the other hand, this is the funniest thing I've seen today:
I guess southeast Colorado had an earthquake late Monday night. I live 20 miles east of Colorado Springs, I didn't feel anything. God willing I will never be in the middle of one.
Just think, here in Jackson, WY. we are at least 10,000 years over due for a 7.5 of bigger from the teton fault line that is right outsdie of town. If that hits while I am still around all I can do is put my head between my legs and kiss my ass goodbye.
I'll never forget The first time I experienced an Earthquake. It was the summer I believe, might have been the fall though.Anyways' it was in the 80's and it was in the early evening.I was sitting in my favorite chair { rocking chair } and watching TV.All of a sudden i felt a strange sensation as if someone was behind my chair and trying to pull it backwards slowly yet with a rocking motion.I got disoriented Immediately and felt I was incapable of doing anything. I also felt an Earthquake a few years ago, maybe the mid 2000's in the early morn while still in bed.It awoke me and shook my house and seemed like it was on the verge of causing damage to the structure of my dwelling.
I just checked the teton fault sesimic activity and this is what I found. It was felt all over including up in the park and beyond. Check out the 11:00 oclock time http://www.quake.utah.edu/helicorder/imw_webi.htm
Really? Well, hope it hangs on until I get the chance to go back and see more sights...... what a beautiful, fascinating place! I've been in Wyoming, but not your area and have heard that Jackson is really beautiful.... Talk about blowing - we have Mt. Rainier, which is awesome, and geologists saying it'll blow one of these days - then there's Mt. Hood south of me w/the same prediction .... then I look at good ole' Helen, missing the top of her head and last I heard she's still burping and belching occassionally.... I hope all 3 don't blow at the same time... whatta mess that would be!
Earthquakes on the West Coast are dramatically different than on the East Coast. The shale rock is different.Earthquakes are more localized and violent in California than out East. This same Earthquake wouldn't have been felt outside the average 200 mile sq. radius in California. This quake was even felt north of Detroit in Canada.
To all of you who experienced "the East Coast quake of 2011," I say ... welcome to SoCal. Yours. "Eddie Haskell"
