And the clueless Democrats wonder why our national economy cannot lift off and once again and soar to new heights! Before we worry about these little distractions, let's first concern ourselves with the Congressional policies that are really holding our economy back and preventing it from actually improving!

I already see this but there is no such thing as a free ride. Wait? I thought you were a Conservative that doesn't believe in a free ride except when its for you? Well Tough (*)(*)(*)(*). Once you are a billionaire(But you will never be because the top 2% doesn't give two (*)(*)(*)(*)s about us workers) and you keep falling for their "Deregulated World" where its just become two classes. The peasant and kings/queens of the old days.

Its both parties fault, but when a democrat(Progessive) actually tries and help you make it for the day, you cry and whine. You know what, you should stop complaining and do something better with your life than being on a forums.

If you complain about the fee's, why don't you move your money to a state bank? If you live in Southern California, Mission Federal Credit Union gives you a Free Checking with the $100 Deposit. Sounds like a deal to me.

Stop (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing and actually do something.

    you are very mistaken, ZSwierczynski.

Millioms of our people have been on a "free ride" for over 70 years!

Conservatives want to “lift” the human spirit. Liberals just want to give people a free government handout! This policy only keeps these people beaten down and despondent because they know they are parasites and leeches who have produced nothing and contribute nothing at all to the rest of society.

We used to be a constitutional republic. Today, given the amount we spend on entitlement programs, we more or less resemble a government-owned and government-directed plantation estate!

Uncle Sam's Plantation 1939-2011 Democrats have been running our inner-cities for the past 30 to 40 years, and blacks are still complaining about the same problems. More than $7 trillion dollars have been spent on poverty programs since Lyndon Johnson's War on Poverty with little, if any, impact on poverty. Diabolically, every election cycle, Democrats blame Republicans for the deplorable conditions in the inner-cities, then incite blacks to cast a protest vote against Republicans.

In order to break the Democrats' stranglehold on the black vote and free black Americans from the Democrat Party's economic plantation, we must shed the light of truth on the Democrats. We must demonstrate that the Democrat Party policies of socialism and dependency on government handouts offer the pathway to poverty, while Republican Party principles of hard work, personal responsibility, getting a good education and ownership of homes and small businesses offer the pathway to prosperity. Conservatives want their taxes to grow the economy. This creates new jobs so people on welfare can go back to work.

Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. - Dwight D. Eisenhower
Eisenhower is sad you are believing into that ideology. I mean he must be a liberal who cares about people.

Its not my fault that people are weak minded like you who just believes its the Left who creates Problems. But then again, Humanity is a weak minded species(me included). Socialism, I knew you were going to say that.

Socialism(From Wikipedia) ---Socialism (play /ˈsoʊʃəlɪzəm/) is an economic system in which the means of production are publicly or commonly owned and controlled cooperatively; or a political philosophy advocating such a system. As a form of social organization, socialism is based on co-operative social relations and self-management; relatively equal power-relations and the reduction or elimination of hierarchy in the management of economic and political affairs.

Socialist economies are based upon production for use and the direct allocation of economic inputs to satisfy economic demands and human needs (use value); accounting is based on physical quantities of resources, some physical magnitude, or a direct measure of labour-time. Goods and services for consumption are distributed through markets, and distribution of income is based on the principle of individual merit/individual contribution

Why should either the left or the right cuddle unproductive members of society(Rich nor Poor). I give the poor the better of the doubt, I have see some poor people, and they are just asking for a hand up. You generalized of the a group of a people is sick. The right just cuddles the Super Rich and their children. You know what? (*)(*)(*)(*) the rich, you are a pathetic person who just wag their tail in front of their master. So is the poor but they are barely surviving so I will help them.

Your theory of "Low Taxes" doesn't work in the Real World. Neither does High Taxes but somehow Eisenhower pulled it off. Maybe we should bring Manufacturing. Legalize Hemp, it will create mass employment.

Many have. What you believe are causes of such metrics would likely disagree with what I believe the causes to be.

For me, the primary cause of a growing "wealth gap" would be that wealth creates more wealth at a faster pace than labor can create wealth.

This sounds insanely obvious to many, but it apparently requires pointing out.

Beyond that, I believe progressive taxation does exactly the opposite of what people expect it to: it makes only large amounts of money most able to grow and multiply for its owners, and squeezes the ability for one's own labor to result in upward mobility, and further wealth creating opportunities.

This assertion of mine also explains why after tax cuts, the wealthy end up paying a higher percentage of the total tax bill (not the other way around, as people with belief systems like you would expect).

You support policies which worsen the exact same problems you lament and wish to fix - you just don't know or understand why.

Ooh! FiddlerDave, I have a question:

Is this another example of you "choosing not to get sucked into it" and not play the "blame the rich" game?

BUSTED. As I will do now - ad nauseum - until you no longer demonstrate hypocrisy, or retract your claim that you're above all of this class warfare crap.

Without writing a major treatise on why I believe the following assertions to be reality, let me ask you a couple of questions:

Would you be ok with promoting policies which result in a "20% pay cut for the middle class" if:

    • Doing so lowered the cost of living 30%?
    • Doing so increased economic opportunity so much, that the "20% pay cut" at the job du jour ended up being able to be abandoned, in favor of positions which paid a higher wage?
    • Doing so decreased taxes, and increased employment?

What I am promoting are executing policies which would have these preceding general effects. There is such a thing as the velocity of money in our economy. It is also closely tied to metrics such as the velocity of upward mobility, which is also tied to lower unemployment. These concepts never get talked about in forums, or really anywhere, but they are endemic to the core principles Conservatives hold dear:

Conservatives believe that if we tax minimally, and regulate with wisdom, we can create a society that rewards effort which ends in upward class mobility for as high a percentage of our populace as possible.

In this way, we can return to our maximum potential prosperity.

None of what you mentioned would ever happen if everyone agreed to 20% pay cuts. Its like your beloved "trickle down" theory. They rich will simply pay themselves the portion of the cut worker salary, while still sticking out their hand asking for handouts.

If you notice, that's not what I asked you. People would never have to experience "20% pay cuts" through being asked to accept them.

Why is it that it is those on the Right who have the hardest time with business concepts?!

Let's see, banks and financial companies grew big and wealthy at a time in our history when there were tremendous legal controls, for instance, a cap on maximum interests rates. Also, banks transacted most business person to person, buildings full of tellers, bookkeepers, agents and officers.

Now, most people do their business online, or at a teller machine where transactions are processed for a fraction of their previous costs.

Banks charge enormous interest rates at a time when they can borrow money for virtually ZERO percent interest! They pay 1/2% on savings. They charge to use your card at any teller machine not their own. They charge fees for every tiniest issue, and if you get an "overdraft protection credit line", they will cover your overdraft checks for a $10 fee per time and an interest rate of from usually 8 to 18%.

And NOW because of a few regulations stopping them from ripoff practices that NO decent bank EVER would have done to a customer, you are saying that is MAKING banks charge a fee to use an ATM card????

You need to understand the difference between an EXCUSE and a REASON! Congressional rules are an EXCUSE! Doubling banking profits AGAIN are the REASON!

Banks (and ALL businesses) do and will ALWAYS charge what the market will PAY! If it was free for them for you to use the ATM card, but they figure you WILL pay $3 /month, they ARE GOING TO CHARGE $3 per month!

Apparently they feel people have learned well enough by their constant advertising propaganda that the WHOLE WORLD STOPS AND NO ONE THINKS YOU ARE COOL IF YOU USE CASH OR CHECKS, so NOW they can rip you off for more money, and blame congress passing a few rules that no decent businessman would object to!

People who believe the banks' garbage are the perfect example of the perfectly programmed consumer!

Here - watch your brain control information again!

I mean, what kind of nerd would WANT to be the literally be the grit in the wheels of commerce aby using anything OTHER than his debit card JUST to save $3 per month????

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hXmyD9a4zg"]Watch the guy ruin OUR lives to save $3 per month![/ame]

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyTqTOisuSo&playnext=1&list=PL3503BD91664005B0"]Who ever would want to go to bed with a guy chintzing on a few dollars?[/ame]

You make some very good points, shhs97.

The problem is there are many good manufacturing jobs out there that often go unfilled. Unfortunately, most people don’t have the necessary skills to qualify for them!

Here is what Bill Clinton had to say about this important subject.

It has become very apparent that most of the liberals in this group are very misinformed and downright wrong when it comes to increasing U.S. corporate taxes and at the same time bringing back to our nation millions of good jobs that have been outsourced to China.

As a matter of fact, they are so misguided, even President Bill Clinton does not agree with them! I should also note he has been very critical of the failed economic policies of Barack Obama!

    Please check this out.

"Fourteen million Americans remain out of work, a waste of our greatest resource. The 42nd president has more than a dozen ideas on how to attack the jobs crisis."

    How very odd.

I have heard no calls to increase the maximum rate of taxes for corporations.

I have only heard calls for some corporations to pay any taxes AT ALL!

U.S. workers are overpaid compared to those in countries such as India, China, Brazil et al where only a couple a decades ago the majority of their people were in a state of dire poverty. economic Globalization has been touted as being good for everyone which is obviously contradicted by the above assertion that American workers are overpaid when over the last 20 years pay increases for union workers has not even kept up with inflation and a person in the poorest county in Mississippi can't live working full time on the minimum wage. (minimum for what?)
but competition with former "untouchables" in India is a fact of life. the question is how do we deal with it? the rich and the large corporation they control say to cut wages which will make them richer and more powerful at everyone else's expense. they ship they are the ones who have sent are jobs overseas. they have an innate opposition to government control or mediation which stifles their control. the people are being squeezed; and yet there are many poor idiotic Americans afraid of socialism.:fart:

    You are correct, shhs97.

When it comes to economics, most of the liberals in this discussion group are indeed "brain dead"! Their only solution to producing a vibrant economy is the constant refrain of "tax the rich!" The problem is the "rich" are the job creators and if you tax them, they will produce fewer jobs!

If you don't believe me, just ask a poor person for a job and see what he tells you!

Here is the very best way we can once and for all stop our best-paying manufacturing jobs from going overseas!

The obvious solution is for American workers to take a pay cut so their consumer products will become less expensive and more competitive on the world market. Then as our companies do more and more business as a result of an increased demand for their products, the workers can take advantage of these many new opportunities by participating in a “profit sharing plan” with the company for whom they are employed.

If the company is successful, the money the workers earn from their new profit sharing plan will more than make up for the pay cuts they agreed to accept to make American products more competitive on the international world market.

To compensate the workers for a good job and their sacrifice, the shareholders and corporate managers agree to give (donate) a percentage of their quarterly profits and their usual bonuses to the employee’s profit sharing plan.

This becomes a win-win situation for everyone! The company earns greater profits as a result of greater sales; consequently the workers win, the shareholders win and corporate management wins! … Good times are here once again!

    Problem solved; case closed!

I'm not an economist by any means but I see your hypothesis flawed for a couple of reasons.

One reason is Americans also rely on imported goods and I doubt importing countries will drop their prices just because American workers take a pay cut.

If wages are cut, you'll have an instant increase in the cost of living not only from imported goods but also locally made products. Do you see businesses, corporations etc dropping their prices in line with the wage cuts, or will they continue as they are so they can reap higher profits? I believe greed will be rampant.

One really needs to travel to a developing country and compare worker's wages to the cost of commodities. I'll also include the cost of rental, public transport etc. Locally made goods and products are very cheap in these countries. Basic commodities like locally grown produce and services are incredibly cheap compared to developed/industrialised nations. These costs are inline with local wages.

To give you some idea, workers in Laos earn as little as a few hundred dollars per month,, many earn a whole lot less. Now look at the prices of local produce and commodities. Fresh fruit, veges, meat, eggs etc are incredibly cheap. We can spend around $10 for a weekly supply of fresh fruit and veges for the two of us. Eating out, my wife and I can have a two course meal with a bottle of beer or two thrown in for around 12USD. A basic service for my motorscooter costs around 4-5 bucks. The house we are renting costs us 850USD per month, the same kind of house would cost us 5000-8000 Aussie dollars in Australia. Having said that, imported goods can be quite expensive.

Dropping wages will only increase the cost of living unless the prices of commodities are also dropped to fall inline.

Without regulations, companies put their own profits above the safety and well being of workers...

There needs to be safety and other regulations......Deregulatoion is why the oil spill happened in the gulf.

This will and can not happen. There is no way American manufacturers can compete with the low wages paid to workers in developing countries,, no way!

What American worker would work for a few hundred bucks per month?

The motor vehicle industry is a prime example with the major global car manufacturers establishing their plants in developing countries because labour is heaps cheaper.

Look,, industrial nations have priced themselves out of the labour market and there is no way of turning back.

The problem is free trade/outsourcing. If they cut wages anymore, or the value of American currency drops anymore, we need to let our guns pound the pavement. Let there be no safe place for a globalist to run to in America. When they leave the country and we get it back, build back up our industrial might and war machine and get ready to rock and roll. For the "world" will be coming.

You can't compete. Tough. Your corporates send jobs off-shore. Tough. You have a 9%+ unemployment rate. Tough. Your wealthiest own most of your wealth. Tough. You subsidise just about everything.

As a conservative, I am wondering why we are trading with China. If this country is going to maintan a higher standard, why would we not regulate this standard to our trade partners?

Basically, all the department stores in america are promoting a monopoly called China. We should apply our anti-trust laws at them or adapt to their standard.
