And I am trying to thump you on the head and say that poverty is based upon the cost of living, which varies by geographical location.
No its not.. cost of living means what it costs to live in DC or NYC or Las Vegas or Miami.. Poverty is below what it costs to live.. pay rent .. buy groceries etc. My nephew is a doctoral student at NYU.. His TINY apartment costs 30K a year. Tiny means 400 square feet.
You want to know why I asked you for a link? Cause I don't believe a single word that you post. Your sentence doesn't even make sense. You realize there are many jobs at a job fair. 5,000 people showing up to a job fair doesn't mean that they showed up for one job. There could 500 jobs at this job fair, but I won't know until I get a link. I found a few jobs on this site in rural Georgia that pay more than $10 an hour. http://www.indeed.com/jobs?q=rural&gclid=CLTnvfugnasCFScRNAod22igjg http://www.jobview.vacareers.va.gov...edEmp=N&tm=90&pg=12&AVSDM=2011-09-09+00:03:00
You're not. You're shoveling a pile of incoherent, unsubstantiated and nonsensical bull (*)(*)(*)(*) into the conversation, because you don't know what your talking about. Poverty level is affected by cost of living. If you make 10k and your expenses are 1k a year, you're not living in poverty.
IMO, if you have a roof over your head, food to eat and can clothe yourself, you're not living in poverty. The definition of poverty that the government uses looks at whether or not you have cable TV, internet, cell phones and a plasma TV. That's arbitrary BS, IMO.
And since those costs vary by area, don't you think thats kind of important to consider when establishing what is "poverty"?
cons cry rivers over Michelle picking vegs out of a garden, yet you ask such an ignorant question like this? Actually I'll happily pick them for all cons and make sure it's heavily contaminated. Bush can tell it, he caused it. Think he will? I'm talking about over 2 mil jobs it created, dispite 110% con opposition and keeping way more Americans out of work.
You are very correct, jbh! Barack Obama has made good on his promise to take care of all Americans with his long awaited government-issue ObamaCard! We can thank Obamas inattention to the debt crisis for these latest salvos against our 401 (k) savings plans! If the carnage continues to occur on Wall Street, no one will have any money left to spend and invest and help the economy to grow and put unemployed Americans back to work! "And thanks to my caring and considerate Administration, you can even buy booze, cigarettes, even a little Mary Jane with your government-issue ObamaCard!"
You are very correct, James Cessna. I very much enjoyed another post. Tell me what you think! http://www.politicalforum.com/polit...572-being-poor-not-virtue-29.html#post4399794 I also liked some other comments: http://www.politicalforum.com/polit...-confirms-inability-write-16.html#post4399882 http://www.politicalforum.com/polit...06504-why-we-have-welfare-11.html#post4441584 Thank you for mentioning the worthwhile information.
why Bush? I don't take political sides to me both are to blame in one way or another...like I said many times......Bush started the fire and Obama is fanning the flames!
