I'm a Constitutional libertarian, registered Republican, and precinct delegate for my county. No, I am not a fundamentalist Christian. No, I do not take the Bible literally. Yes, I believe in evolution.

I haven't taken a tally of the responses, but it appears to me you've cast your net a little wide.

Both theism and atheism were politically exploited in the past.

The reason I said that I have seen a rejection of science from elected officials is because This a routine practice of elected Republicans in the United States. However, your claims that all leftists are "psychotic" or "marxists" is both extreme and not based on reality.

A huge number of Republican politicians in America openly reject science. the same cannot be said of all leftists, where few if any elected officials embrace marxism or the other assorted extreme ideologies you claim.

To call them Stalinists, Maoists or psychotic is completely groundless.

I'm an atheist, that also understands that the moral values, espoused by christians, is actually beneficial to society vs the anything goes destructive political and social progressivism.

Consensus science is not science at all. True science doesn't require a consensus. It requires verifiable facts.

In my opinion no branch of science has doe more harm to traditional facts based science than "climate science." Not since the Catholic Church was at odds with the scientific method has more damage been done to science than by this movement. It's as if these environmental activist operating under the banner of climate science have replaced the Church of the dark ages in it's anti-science stand.

You are either knowingly or unknowingly a disciple of the anti-science church of AWG. It's maddening to watch.

I am a christian, a mechanical engineer, and a lover of the scientific method. Climate science has made itself the enemy of science in so many ways. Do you have any actual scientific background? If you do you should know what I'm talking about.

I am not a fundamentalist, because having spent time thinking about religious extremities, I cannot consider my religion to be rules of life: Christianity in the middle ages, Islamic terrorism, Christian anti-abortion, Islamic female oppression.

What disdain for science are we talking about?
I do not believe the Bible to be literally true, because people have always written things and people tend to not have references as sources or write truthfully.

The authors of the Bible were people like you and I. I for one can be subjective and see my own opinion as the only right one. The probability of an author using his own biased opinion is high. Easily biased things: female oppression, anti gay thinking, anti other religions thinking. Without life experience, that way of thinking would be the default one for many people and in those days, people were usually not highly educated. I just came up with a new word. Bible-Bias.

Yes, there should be a moderator with some kind of fact-book that shouts out: "Liar! and That is not factually correct!" at all events, rallies, discussions, whenever a politician lies. Come to think about it, why doesn't that happen?

I'm a devout Christian, but I'm not an institutional one nor a fundamentalist. Usually I fight them just as much as I fight the extreme atheists.

With my fundemental cristian hat on:
As a fundimental I believe in mythology, as I am the direct dencendent of jeasus himself (prais the lord), and I pray each day for solutions. And god is not listening. He is going against my god's will, and is purposly failing the USA because of too much homosexuality, and marijuana smoking. But that is OK (prais the lord), Because it is god's will, and I will obey and not question anything. We all have "faith" in our church going conservatives be it t-bagger or rebuplican, and we all know that they will do god's work for us because god directs them (praise the lord). That is why corporations own us, it is god's will(praise the lord). . And if the politician do what corporations tell them to than as good christians we obey with praise. In fact we parise so much, we praise any old relic politician, that god will come down from the heavens and talk to the t-bagger politician in their sleep, so that they will have gods answers to do gods work(praise the lord).

If the weather changes because of scientific work it may not be gods' will (praise the lord). So I do not believe in man made science, only made up stuff like scientology(praise the lord). As a christian first, And the scriptures say (at least thats what they tell me), that Darwin was wrong and we did not come from monkeys. We came from the stork that's right, the big bird with a big beak dropped us off at our parents house because Adam ate a Chese burger at McDonalds while Eve was having her apple period.

The reason me and my religious christian collegues believe in bible over science is not that religon is correct, but because we are too dumb to understand science, and religion keeps us that way. More easy to think simple than it is to try and think, make the head hurt.
