It is not too much to ask, surely?

How do Americans really think their various wars are going?

How do they think about the rest of the world?

Surely they must be beginning to acknowledge that they are no longer the big wheel they once were?

Are there any Americans here who can rise above the sound and fury of the neocons who signify nothing?

    Your wish is granted.

Currently we have a right-wing government run by a Merril Lynch (that was) currency trader (who was).

    I'm your huckleberry pal.

I think about the rest of the world all the time. Which part do you want to discuss.

I acknowledge America is no longer the big wheel it once was.

I think the neocons are totally discredited.

    I still don't like you.

I don't think the O.P. realizes that the NeoCon movement is getting squashed by the TEA Party movement.

The Tea Party movement is 'squashing' itself (they are extremists).

Let's see, Connecticut, one of the smallest states in the Union has an economy that's larger than all of New Zealand's by 100Billion.

Our median income in the U.S. is almost DOUBLE that of the average New Zealander.

The POOR in the U.S. have more cars, bigger homes, more Air conditioning, more Dryers and more DISPOSABLE income than the New Zealand Middle Class.

... Most American's want an end to the Wars.
... Most American's don't care about the rest of the world, just as the rest of the world could give two craps about us.
... Yeah I guess we're not the Big Wheel we once were, we're slightly smaller but still a HELL of a lot bigger than you and anyone else out there.
... As for the NeoCons, they're a dying breed, the TRUE Conservatives the Tea Party is on the rise and we are shaping tomorrow's policies. Smaller Government, Less Regulations, Lower Taxes, More Opportunities for small business and investments.

Is that why we had the biggest surge out of any group in the last Election?

Of all the Candidates that took over congressional seats from Democrats AND Republicans, the VAST Majority were Tea Party Republicans.

You can talk all you want but the facts don't lie.

Things are changing as we speak. That AstroTurf (Tea Party) movement had some traction for awhile... but it is slipping even now.

The 33 seat gain in 2008 by the TEA Party which was the biggest ever by an upstart movement will be even larger in 2012. You'd better get ready do see your establishment hacks get crushed.

    LOL!!!!!
Is that why Romney's attacks on Perry have only served to WIDEN the lead that Perry Holds?
Is that why Palin, who hasn't even announced still regularly comes up second or third in the Polls, because the movement is losing traction. LOL!!! You're funny.

Hmmm, let's see Beck creates an Internet based TV Entertainment company that gets more paying members than the Liberal Oprah has viewers, yet we're losing traction.

Just keep saying that to yourself as you rock yourself to sleep.

Jeez, who washed what passes for your brain?

Your so-called wealth is held by 3% of your population. Here, we distribute it.

    And this, just shows....

    ....how brain-washed American neocons are.

So the "true" neocons are now represented by Palin, Bachmann and Perry? Palin is still building her bridge to nowhere, Bachmann has self-destructed, and Perry is trying to cross Palin's bridge.

    Laughable stuff. :teddy::teddy::teddy:

Me too. Too many of them are convinced that there's actually a meaningful difference between Democrats and Republicans, because the media told them so.

With my non deluded hat on:

Because I thinks so much and inclued so many factors in my evaluations of the world, there is not enough time or space on this thread to inclue all of what you ask.

    So I'll make it short:
I do not buy into any propaganda of any broadcast media spin from talking heads that are paid sales misters, who push their agenda and insult my intelligence.

But I evaluat the propaganda to see what they are selling, and desypher who benifits from it and who is harmed by it. With that analysis, I go on to see what else is related to it and if there is a pattern of propaganda. Then I investigate the source and who benifits and to see how I can make some money off it. Via investing of course.

Your wealth might be distributed, but all you accomplished was making everyone poor.

What did you expect would happen when you take money from someone who knows how to invest it, and give it to someone who doesn't? I'm guessing all the rich simply left.

And that's why you don't have all the toys we have here in 'merica.

The Tea Party movement is a fascist movement or in other words the same than the NeoCon. And the history will show that is the same if they arrive to power.

"It is not too much to ask, surely?"

    Yes it is.

"How do Americans really think their various wars are going?"
Poorly but it did allow us a proper foothold in the ME for when the resource wars heat up - bin Laden might be dead but his main objective was accomplished: Sink us into debt, and erode our society.

"How do they think about the rest of the world?"
We don't. Or at least not very critically, whatsoever.

"Surely they must be beginning to acknowledge that they are no longer the big wheel they once were?"
We could still end the world. That's why we aren't very concerned about paying debts or what other nations think. We could just commit suicide on a global scale taking everyone else with us.

"Are there any Americans here who can rise above the sound and fury of the neocons who signify nothing?"
The Neocons will hopefully **** off and die soon.

I'm so glad that Awryly and Yaffle found each other. They'll be happy together. Two sterling examples of people deluded by propoganda.

Every report I've seen which "compares" our standard of living, ignores our strongest points. Everything here is cheap compared to elsewhere, and no matter our "inequality" our poor still live better live than any other. I've been to europe and seen your empty 1 room households with nothing to do but twiddle your thumbs.

I think you probably mistook our diverse opinions for brainwashing, because you had never seen people with so much freedom of opinion. When i visit a socialist nation I see a bunch of people who agree on everything, until you challenge them then they are on you like flies to sugar.

Ya know what's interesting about the American people...in general?
They honestly believe crap like this without any first-hand experience what-so-ever.

I've seen your poor too Mr. Broom. They live considerably worse that a mere 100 miles north in Toronto.

But hey...why let facts get in the way of a good flag-waiving session...

Look at you, you aren't arguing my facts you are arguing against me as a person.

    You are brainwashed as hell.

If you're worried about wealth inequality, which you shouldn't be, then just take everyones money away. And we can all be poor. And we'll all be equal, and it'll be great. NOT. Inequality is a poor comparison of living standard. What does equality matter when you are all dirt poor? Most europeans don't even own a car. Everyone I know owns 1, sometimes 2, sometimes 5 cars.

Gas here is 1/2 the price it is over there, too!
Yes, they do live worse in toronto. I agree.

    How about some facts, though?

You tell me your price/liter of gas, and I'll tell you mine.

In New Zealand, you're middle class if you make over 20K US per Year.
In the U.S. you're considered POOR.

I remember when I was poor, making only 22K a year. I had my own 1600 Sq. Ft. Home, had 2 cars 3 TV's and 2 Cellphones.
    That was 25 years ago.

Did my AC in my car or home work any less brilliantly than the rich guy's? Did my Hundai NOT take me where I wanted to go because it was an inexpensive car.
Did my Air Bag in my car not work as well as the one in my Boss's Mercedez?

No Brother, you're looking at things from the wrong perspective.

To top it off, consumer goods and Fuel costs LESS in the U.S. than in New Zealand!!!!

This just shows how much you actually know.
NeoCons or "Neo Conservatives" are LESS distrustful of Government than TRUE conservatives, like the TParty.
So NO, we are NOT the new NeoCons, we are the REAL thing.

You really are just making stuff up, you know that correct? The median per capita income in the US, is higher than every country in the world except Luxembourg. I chose median because it takes into account wealth inequality, so it isn't skewed by billionaires like average income would be.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Median_household_income#cite_note-4

The idea that Europeans have more stuff than Americans is objectively false. We consume more than any nation in the world, this is again an objective fact. We have more stuff than any nation in the world. However, while we have more stuff, Europeans, Australians, Canadians, etc trade some of their stuff for better health care, better schools, a more equitable distribution of wealth, better roads, better infrastructure in general, and more leisure time. It is a trade-off Europeans make, and a trade-off Americans refuse to make. I personally think it is stupid of Americans to trade all that stuff so that they can have the fanciest new lawnmower, instead of just a regular lawnmower, but that is the choice Americans have made. However, to pretend that we also have less stuff than everyone else is simply misinformed, silly, and objectively incorrect.
