Enough people do watch them and vote the way they tell them too that elections can be won or lost because of the lies that they tell...

This is very true. Just another signpost on the road to another republic in decline. Where are the patriots?

All of the "Patriots" are too busy blaming gays and Muslims for all of America's problem to do anything about the real causes...

Its not gays or Muslims faults. It is the lazy people who want the government to support them for the rest of their life.

Baloney. AP has been caught altering photos. The NYT lies through their teeth if their lies match their political convictions. They're been caught, too. Has the White House ever put out a press release that wasn't lies? The major networks in the U.S. ignore stories that might embarrass their Dear Leader and pound away at trivia that meets their needs. I wonder why when they're screaming about the wealthy the name George Soros never comes up. Oh, big surprise.

So, I oppose your efforts to shut down AP, Reuters, MSNBC, CBS, CNN, and so on and so forth.

As I said, I realize the socialists hate free speech and, in fact, the rest of the Constitution. That's why I support the 1st Amendment.

I'll even tolerate the nitwits on the left on television and in the press. Of course, the leftists are totally intolerant and seething with bile.

From the government, yes. The government cannot restrict freedom of press. That said, people can sue for libel and slander.

And then you would be sued for libel. The only defense against libel is the truth. You can publish true statements that hurt individuals, but you cannot publish lies that hurt individuals.

A change in the 1st Amendment is extremely unlikely to occur due to the risk of censorship whether intentional or unintentional.

This is an interesting opinion based on proof that your side lies too.

So you want to basically protect the right for the left to continue lying so the right can continue to do the same???

This completely disturbing to say the least, at so many levels.

I believe that “News” should be restricted to truth/facts. Who, what, when, where, and how.

Why is an opinion, and this should be exclusively recognized for what it is, political propaganda/commentary/potential BS, and they should be identified as such, at the top of any article or program for what they are. Not news! Buyer beware if you will.

As far as controlling it, most incidents would be highly subjective, especially in a political environment that is extremist by nature. After all we are talking about politics here. Lying, misleading, and manipulating the public into believing a specific agenda, is and has always been the goal. Insuring the public is well informed, educated, and able to make informed decisions based on the reality of the situation and the truth/facts, eliminates the political agenda and cripples it’s ability to manipulate the public. So it is obvious why this is not beneficial to the government and the powerful individuals who control it.
