Nobody on the left expects the military or the police to have much sympathy with us. Most of them will do whatever the (ostensibly) elected government tells them to do.

In my case, "us" means liberals. The contention was made that liberals are counting on the support of the police and the military, and I'm saying that nobody believes that the police and the military are on the side of the liberals, especially us liberals.

You really think that an Empowered Second term for Obama & a Democrat controlled house & Senate & Majority of Democrat Govs of states would not count on the Military & Law Enforcement to follow THEIR orders ?

I remember reading about the Cybsersecurity Act of 2009 (introduced by CFR member Senator John D. Rockefeller IV) would have allowed the government to shut down the Internet "in the event of an emergency" AKA terrorism/martial law/whenever they feel like it. The bill didn't pass thru Congress IIRC, thank God. But there may be something to replace it soon: Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act, S. 3480.

No surprise that CFR member Senator Joe Liberman introduced it after the other bill by Mr. Rockefeller got shot down.

 

Obama is sneaky. There's no telling what all he's orchestrating behind the scenes. And there's no telling what he may pull before next fall. He's gonna lose and desperation is setting in. That's dangerous.

 

Agreed. And having him parade all over the country doing campaign fundraising doesn't make anybody feel more secure. Whoever's behind his agenda is busily at work in DC. All they needed was to get him elected... they can no doubt do the rest from behind the scenes.

 

I love the liberal attitude, "you're just over reacting, its not a big deal". thats what they said way back when SS was passed, then Medicare, then mediciad than obamacare.

The federal government is going to collapse in on itself soon.

If you did your home work, you would know that SS when it was trying to be passed, was HIGHLY unpopular.

Just as Obamacare is highly unpopular.

They pass things like this, to make people more dependent on government and than 60 years later, when the programs are broke or not being funded correctly, someone talks about re-working the programs, the liberals use that against conservatives to say they want to end SS and not give old people money.

It happens with every liberal social program.

 

Because Ron Paul is against any program that the federal government does that is beyond the scope of the constitution.
