I agree Obama is in hock to corporatists. But that is the nature of the political system he has to operate in. I doubt he wants it that way and he has made efforts to shake free of their shackles.

Until you change your political system, corporates will continue to buy your politicians avidly. And your politicians will continue to be gratefully bought. Democrats included.

Bush and Obama are alike in many ways. However, Bush never murdered American citizens by having drones blow them up without due process of law.

 

We are all agreed that Obama intentionally ordered the death by drone of three Americans within the last month. Al Awlaki, his teenage son, and that Samir fellow. Obama didn't give them due process of law.

We are not agreed that Bush intentionally ordered the deaths of any Americans without due process of law.

 

I am not an Obama apologist at all. I merely recognise his instincts for social and economic justice along with the constraints he is faced with.

"Apologising" on his behalf would involve making allowances for mistakes he has made.

Social justice and economic justice are both Socialist and Communist terms. Neither has any place in the USA. The ONLY possible end result of either Social Justice or Economic Justice is to have an elite ruler decide what is justice of every kind. Never in history has there been such an elite ruler that was benevolent for any extended period of time. The result, EVERY TIME, is that those most demanding of social and economic "justice," suffer the most injustice at the hands of the elite ruler.

Those that refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
