To the left wing and socialists of the US, what would you have done after 9-11-2001?

Asking the left wing/socialist of the US only:

September 11, 2001. Terrorists attack NY killing 3000 people.

What do you do? Short term and long term.

 

Wouldn't have happened, because there wouldn't have been a need for a false-flag operation to secure oil fields and pay off military contractors closely connected to the Bush oil dynasty.

 

Stop with the 9/11 arguments, its getting anoying.

9/11 was something US never saw 20 terrorists dead for 3000 civilians, US doesnt use to have this kind of death rations in Iraq its like 1 terrorist for 1000 civilians.

We also learned that geometry lessons on how pentagons behave when intercepting planes.

 

I'll tell you as a classic liberal what I would have and would not have done:

1. I would not have told General Wesley Clark that we need to try and blame it on Saddam as soon as it happened and announce to him my plans for wars on 7 countries in 5 years.
2. I would not have used this to instill terror into the minds of American citizens and get them riled up for a neverending war against radicals
3. I would not have used this to create an authoritarian control grid over American citizens and invade their privacy with the Patriot Act
4. I would not have delayed the investigation, appointed the investigators, and demonized anyone who found something wrong with this approach.
5. I would have gotten to the bottom of how it was funded and told the American citizens exactly who and what was involved. (Pakistan funded, most of the hijackers were Saudis, our loyal allies)

Anyway I guess I am not allowed to reply since I am not American. But seeing as I am mostly a left winger I would like to say that more traditional/far-leftwing individuals would probably have declared war too. Just for different reasons. Mostly conquest. It offers a valid excuse to continue the global revolution proposed by Karl Marx among other reasons. Basically any hard core socialist/communist/serious left winger would unleash the dogs just as fast as NATO did in general. Just once again it's a different reason (global conquest).

 

You could have just blamed it on Cookie Monster and saved yourself a lot of words.

 

Yeah or could have blamed Iraq on the Cookie Monster's weapons of mass destruction.

 

I was just having a go anyway. It must be devastating for conservatives that Obama accomplished all of the defense goals that Bush spent eight years botching.

That would depend on how fast I was able to confirm the the attack was assisted by factions within the administration at the time.

Deployed special forces to Afghanistan an utilize airstrikes to root out the Taliban and Al Qaeda.

In the long term, I'd export that model to other Al Qaeda bases and increase military aide and training to countries with Al Qaeda infestations.

No full scale invasions, no occupations, no war for propaganda campaigns.

 

I would have said "We have (*)(*)(*)(*) on and interfered with your countries for over a century, so now let us consider it even". We will nuke the UK off the face of the earth for what they have done for you for many hundreds of years, and will eradicate the illegitimate country of israel as well".

 

Thanks for the post.... it shows very clearly the difference in rational, vs. childlike thinking. Currently 20+ responses into it, and still not an even semi-rational attempt at an answer. It is very enlightening....
