Do you support the OWS movement? I couldn't resist. See the madness here >>> http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=/&gl=US#/watch?v=qaVvzTyMcls
I don't support their political ideology. They have a right to protest in a peaceful manor, and that's the only thing I support.
Do you think any of these 20 somethings made the decisions that brought us to this econonomic melt down?
The same 20 somethings that had nothing to do with our involvement in Vietnam, but protested it anyway. What does assigning blame have to do with it? 20 somethings protest... it's what they do. Most Americans agree with at least some of their complaints. But few believe they'll actually accomplish anything with this movement because they have no attainable goal... except creating chaos. I voted No Twinkles.
those same 20 somethings in the 60's went on to become productive members of their society. a society that they had a real role in changing. (*)(*)(*)(*) right I support them & they aren't going away anytime soon.
That's pretty much it in a nutshell. They need to organize and work within the system to change it and drop this bull(*)(*)(*)(*) idea of replacing the system. They also need to stop giving Dems a free pass. The Dems voted for bailouts too. Oh, and they need to avoid getting co opted by the Unions. Unions don't give a crap about the 99%. They only care about how many $$$ in union dues are coming in.
I take it you love crony capitalism, corruption in the banking sector, unemployment , the housing bubble and the shrinking middle class..
Corporate welfare, social welfare, it's all evil. The only difference is that OWS supports one but not the other.
I do not support the OWS protestors. I might agree with some of what they are against, but I will never agree with their tactic of civil disobedience. Period.
I agree 100%. I think they are a bunch of uninformed idiots with stupid ideas. That said, they do have a right to protest in a peaceful manner.
The same thing was said about the Viet Nam protestors, take a bath, get a job, yada, yada. But they didn't let up, and they stopped the war. Hopefully this will be the same. It does figure though, the party of NO saying no.
And as the op in my other post shows it led to a republican landslide vote for ol Tricky. Besides, no one supported the hippies of the 60's and 70's more than the North Vietnamese government who were counting on them to keep up the protest to draw more support for policies that would guarentee our exit. Like the ows crowd who use the exact same chants, the exact same imagery, from the exact same socialist organizations, the hippie movement of the Vietnam era was more for the sucess of socialism/marxism/communism, than they were for anything else.
