Can anyone give an objective and principled definition of "pro-American" and/or "anti-American"? To me, they are essentially totalitarian and meaningless terms, used almost always for ad hominem without any real objective meaning. Most people, whether they think America should rule the world, or get rid of the constitution etc etc - almost all, in my experience, think they are pro-American.
Pro-American = Don't bother me and I won't bother you. Anti-American = I'll keep bothering you until you do what I want you to do. *shrug*
There really is no set definition......To many americans, anyone who does not agree with them is anti-american. Look at Fox News. Anyone who does not share their right wing view is called unpatriotic and unamerican every single day on their shows. It's the same with MSNBC when it comes to people who don't share far left views.... They are meaningless phrases.
Pro american= proper literal following of the constitution,Smaller govt,no more handouts from the federal level,Military,guns for everyone,lower taxes,conservatism,Michael Savage, Ted Nugent, Following Jesus, charity from individuals not govt. Anti American = socialist govt programs that create dependence, Omamessiah, Democrats,Liberal college professors, Socialist security, DEA,TSA,DOA,DOE,ATF,DOA,Islam, burning the USA flag,OWS, Illegal immigrants being allowed to stay, Canadians being allowed to enter, Sharia law, Massachusetts, Political correctness, Homosexuality being promoted as normal, porn, ACLU, anti Israel and the leftist news media.
Anti American is one who indicates where the cracks are and pro American is one who paints over them.
Then stop invading other countries and poluting the planet and a bunch of other stuff which bothers us...

It is just more of the empty rhetoric that the right wing in the US espouses. You can tell already from right wing responses on this very thread that they consider themselves to be the embodiment of all that is good in the world, and consider anything contrary or foreign to be evil. You will also notice that when their candidate wins they preach of loyalty to the state and obedience, and how it is wrong to question the government. But then when a candidate they dislike comes into power they begin frothing at the mouth and calling for armed rebellion. They don't care about America, they care about creating a system that is seemingly most beneficial to them in particular at the expense of everyone else.
How can any liberal be considered pro American when they have no qualms about allowing people to burn the American flag and belittle our military every time we engage in war? Not only are liberals anti American but they're anti human since they favor abortion on demand, euthanasia and dabbling with eugenics.
Because I'm advocating such a Policy? Funny maybe you should go over some of my posts before you label me the US Government.
Any voices that disapprove of Government interaction in matters of Foreign Policy are clearly Anti-American? I guess you're willing to support the 1st Amendment as long as it's a message you support. So I assume Authoritarian Republicans or NeoCons or Imperialists are Pro-American?
