I did not bother taking stats in my unit. Just because a washout would inject unpopular characters into a conversation does not mean said washout is wrong.

Dude are you a a cherry jumper??? No, no probably a sky shark.:hungry:

Sounds to me like you terminated your jump status after your replacement company jump. Is that so ?

So you were a "washout" ? As noted by others, I have seen you reference Hitler at least twice today. You do not realize how completely lame that is, do you ?

Tall weeds are apparently not your thing. Been to an occupy camp lately ?

Im not one of those libs who auto asumes bush got us into the war for oil, but I seriously doubt it was because of Sadams human rights record (dismal as it was).
If you support us being in iraq to get rid of sadam, then why not support Obama sending 250 marines to take care of the LRA? Or wars to take out every big baddie on the planet?

Duel use tech? Can you please post a list of this dual use tech? If your considering using shipments of pesticides and computer equipment by private businesses in the US as support by the government, save tour breath. Or perhaps the shipment of disease cultures to a university in baghdhad .... hardly evidence of direct support of his WMD programme. I will concede that we did support his fight against Iran. However, we also clandestinely supported Iran. I suppose we wanted neither country to suceed, otherwise we would be dealing with a rising superpower in the ME. That would be bad news for our allies in Israel. There is really no right or wrong side l here. Just simply what is right or wrong for the side you support.

    Big flippin' deal.

Bush Jr. gets in his incredibly luxurious plane and flies over to Iraq - with about a hundred Secret Service people just so he can spend a few hours and get a great photo op.

All at the cost of millions of dollars to the American taxpayer.

Why not give the troops he visited a choice - he can visit them or split the money he saves by not going over there amongst their families.

Which do you think most of them would choose?

Both Obama and Bush Jr. are/were pathetically lousy POTUS's imo.

Libs just do not understand leadership. The bond that is the military, especially when in harms way.

While anyone in uniform, especially enlisted, would not reject an extra $50, they certainly appreciate all the folks that come over and show their appreciation, from entertainers to elected officials. And especially those leaders whom they respect. Like Bush.

Not like Obama. Obama is a phoney, and they can smell that crap a mile away.

    $50? Try more like $20,000.

I guarantee you it cost at least $20 million for that trip (assuming he took Air Force One and all the extra Secret Service and military personnel/aircraft/equipment that was needed to protect him).

'However, about a decade ago, the General Accounting Office released two fairly detailed reports on President Bill Clinton's foreign travels (view them here and here). Secret Service costs were omitted as classified, but other government expenses were tallied up. A Clinton trip to six countries in Africa in 1998 rang up at $42.8 million, most of that for military aircraft costs. A trip to Chile came in at $10.5 million. A trip to China that year cost $18.8 million.'

    http://www.politico.com/blogs/joshgerstein/1110/How_much_do_Obamas_foreign_trips_cost.html

And there is no way he could have eaten AND spoken with more then 2000 troops (and those are the troops I mean - not every one that happened to be on the base(s) he visited).

    That equals $20,000 each.

You would have to be one pathetic, little trained minion to turn down $20G's for your family rather then having chow with the dumbass moron who is responsible for you being stuck in the middle of nowhere on Thanksgiving in the first place.

And you can stuff that 'lib just do not understand leadership' crap...I served my country for as long as I possibly could.

And btw - I am neither a lib or a con.

Bush didn't need 100 Secret Service to visit his own military. You are aware of what they do... the military right? You are aware of how it works... right? You do get that he was the Commander in Chief... It does not cost millions for him to go there. It costs gas in the plane, and some food. The rest of the staff are being paid already. And morale is priceless.

On the subject of morale and the OP, not having to breathe the same air as Obama was probably the best thing for their morale. He is their CiC. It is probably one of those realities best left to concept.

    I disagree.

    And so does the GAO.

Or are you saying it cost less to fly into Chile then it did into an active war zone?

What do you not f'ing understand ? Commanders worth a crap have visited front-lines since the dawn of combat.

Obama is a demonstrated piece of camel dung. He golfs while our boys lay it all on the line. We have a million soldiers, men and women, that have more balls, and more respect for the country, than that scumbag Obama.

And yet he has the class to eat Thanksgiving with the troops and still occasionally greets them upon returning stateside at airports.

No, those trying to malign his character at this point, particularly juxtaposed with the Obama, only look foolish.

Me? What do you not understand?

When did I say commanders do not visit the front lines?

And when did I say Obama was even a remotely decent POTUS?

I said that - in essence - a) I have NO respect for Bush Jr. (or Obama for that matter).

And b) that I believe most soldiers would rather have $20K (IF my figures are correct) then have supper with their Commander-In-Chief.

I know when I was in the service I and I guarantee you most of those I knew would FAR rather take the $20G's.

And in my opinion, you have to be a semi-fanatic to think otherwise.

Now if you and some others have some love affair with Bush Jr...fine.
    That is your right.

Just as It is mine to think the guy was a pathetic POTUS.

And maybe you think what was 'accomplished' in Iraq was worth the deaths of 4,000 American soldiers (not to mention the tens of thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians that died and the trillion+ dollars spent).

    I DO NOT.
