ATLANTA -- Police officers shot and killed a woman in an Atlanta home when she didn't comply with orders to stop stabbing her young daughter, who also died, authorities said Monday. Police and fire rescue personnel were called to the home Monday afternoon and were told an 8-year-old boy had been assaulted by his mother and thrown out a window, said an Atlanta Police spokesman, Maj. Keith Meadows. Meadows said witnesses told officers the mother was alone inside the home with her young daughter. He said officers entered the house and found the mother sitting in a chair, stabbing the child. Two officers drew their service weapons and ordered the woman to drop a knife, firing at her when she did not comply, Meadows said. What is so sad about these stories is that loss of the greatest love one can have(that for your child) can be overcome by sheer hatred for your ex-spouse/lover/baby's mom.

Agreed. Last I checked, there was no psych evaluation required in order to make a baby, nor is there any way to prevent anyone from having a baby here in the US of A.
This is so true and we're seeing it more and more. People have become so self-centered, they even consider their children expendable to get what they want. Very sad indeed.

Quite true, but it's even more than that. To many people don't know how to control their emotions. Awhile back this man followed another home and killed him as he got out of his car, just because he beat him to a gas pump.
Tests can identify psycho/sociopaths as can those closest to them using steps identified by the FBI. Those tests cannot do so for teens though(they are all subject to hormonal crazyness)... so under 18 kids having babies will still slip through the cracks and some will occasionally put their babies at risk.

For some I have no doubt, but for the most part, I think they would find, or assume things that didn't/wouldn't necessarily evolve into a legitimate problem and that if they did the tests thoroughly enough they would determine about 90% (or more) of the potential parents would be unacceptable for one reason or a half dozen others, that didn't mean anything accept, a possibility existed that they would be bad parents.

I'd like to touch up on your comments. People, who murder, torture, enslave innocent beings meet suitable ends in the Big House, if there is one. Furthermore, why should we wait for the Big House to make the suitable ends, we don't even know if exists. Let's act it out now, and maybe this world would be a better place. The prison experiement has failed. It's not a deterrence to stop crime. Society promotes murder, torture, enslavement. Society has, and will always be the problem.
