Politics aside, I am glad to see more people back in the saddle. Personally, for me, this has no bearing on how I feel about Obama. I still think he is the same old Washington who spent three years wasting our money.

EDIT: After thinking about this, how much of this is temporary help? I believe we had this same bump last year as well before the unemployment rate went up again?

Obama math. By any measure, the rate should have gone up, because we didn't even add enough jobs to break even for population growth. But Obama must have decided that a half million folks no longer get counted, as that is the only way to show a drop.

    Pathetic.

Oh, is President Obama finally willing to accept responsibility for something? I think not. I hope unemployment gets back down to a reasonable level.

I've seen too many "revised" economic figures from the govt to trust these numbers. I hope it's true. Regardless, Obama has to go. He is an utter failure.

More jobs lost than gained and the unemployment rate drops? Not to mention that the unemployment benefits of many have expired and well over 300 thousand people have quit looking for work. Moreover, more people are going to school using federal financial aid and student loans which will be our next bubble. Its all voodoo math like the inflation rate that doesent account for food and oil. Go to the beauro of labor and statistics website and look for "real unemployment rate"

Good news but just imagine how much better the unenmployment numbers would be if it were not for the house republicans blocking Obama's job creation plans.

New hiring of the tune of 160K and shrinking government by 20K seems like two steps in the right direction.

You do know this is our country, not a game of football where your side winning is the most important thing.

And of course the right wingers take this good news and just pepper the thread with "Obama sucks" comments.

It isn't merely Fuzzy Math either.Somehow this White House is able to
tinker with Revised numbers and manipulate their use.
I think the explanation is that with many unemployed stopped looking
    for work,the number comes down.But almost a 1/2 pt.
No way. This was Pure State Run manipulation.Even Rick Santelli
    doubts it's authenticity.
Of course this is what Guys like me warned of.
Chicago-style Thuggery with Governance. It's how Obama
won his Illinois senate seat and even managed to shut up a
    Governor { Rod Blagojevich }.

 Liberals are such idiots. It is seasonal hiring genius. When it drops dramatically in January, will you say "you suck Mr. President"?

    Dear Liberals,

This is like celebrating that you no longer have to use a respirator on a critically ill person.

    (Because the person died.)

The biggest factor in this number is that more people QUIT LOOKING FOR WORK!

Yippie! The patient died... no need for the respirator.

Also... CONGRATULATIONS LIBERALS... you just got more people permanently on government entitlements.

    So stupid.

IMHO: The teleprompter in chief manipulating numbers OR cleverly timing this so-called recovery to aid his re-election bid.

I have never seen such a self-serving politician in my life. Yes, I know the political climate in Washington is bad all around, but Obama takes the cake. Total lack of leadership and courage.
