I've already seen your posts. You would rather the US support a dictator (Hosni Mubarak) rather than see another dictator take over (the Muslim Brotherhood).

You have no principles and you don't believe in freedom or democracy. You only support democracy when its convenient. Any other time, you'll support dictatorship gladly.

That is an assumption of my position that makes me the enemy, while missing the obvious that we agree. The real point of departure here is that you think that the Muslim Brotherhood who assended because of a democratic process automatically elevates them to a democracy and worthy of support. My position is that Mubarak is replaced by Mubarak 2.0 aka the Muslim Brotherhood. It is a trade of one tyranny for another more egregious tyranny with a calaphate agenda that is aimed at a militarily and economically powerful enemy of the US an Israel. They smell blood in the water and they are going for the prey and to extend the metaphor, Obama is bleeding profusely. Islam is not prone to a democratic system, they are from the very first day a system of tyranny and opression and injustice. All Islamo writings are orientated toward hegemony and the will of Allah informed by the life and times of the false prophet. Reality is a (*)(*)(*)(*)(*), but there it is, in all its ugly Satanic murder cult reality.

Please quote EXACTLY where I said that you should support the Muslim Brotherhood?

I specifically said that you shouldn't. I said that we should remain neutral on Egypt until they democratize. They should be cut off from all benefit from the US until they do.

So what do you support in Egypt? The return of Mubarak? If that's the case, then you are supporting dictatorship.

Do you remember when invading other countries to spread freedom and democracy was super duper awesome? Now countries are democratizing in spite of our best efforts to stop them, and all of a sudden democracy has become evil, because people right wingers don't like who may win!! I hate to break this to the geniuses on the right, but that is how democracy/representative government works!!

You didn't. You assume that what is happening in Egypt is a democratic process because they had an election. It is not. It is simply a peaceful and easy pathway to power for the Muslim Brotherhood. I support nothing in Egypt as it is because it is a false transparent facade of democracy. I would support a process that had an open access to canidates with ideas and positions clearly understood by voters. The only winner in the current events is the Muslim Brotherhood and tyranny.

How you got that I support Mubarak is beyond me. Way beyond.

Whether or not the process in Egypt is democratic is completely insignificant. Supporting the dictator Mubarak is decidedly undemocratic and Obama was 100% right when he cancelled our support for him. It doesn't matter if the country falls to another dictator. They should not get our support either. We should refuse to grant them any kind of benefit until they democratize.

    That goes for all dictatorships.

Do you know anything about the Muslim Brotherhood? They disavow violence, they support civilian government and democracy, etc. While I am a staunch secularist, religious parties work in many contexts as long as they respect the authority of the civilian government as the ultimate national earthly authority. German Christian Democrats cause no trouble, the AKP in Turkey works well within the confines of a civilian government, etc. Now I am not claiming the MB will turn out that well(in fact, I am positive it won't turn out as well as the CDP in Germany), but I am not in the business of predicting the future. I know that the MB is a party of highly educated people, with economic and social issues to deal with, and I think there is a very real possibility they will come to power democratically and govern democratically. The real worry is if Al Noor Salafi wins, because they are far more radical than the MB.

You clearly do not get what I am saying in anyway, shape, or form. Your narrow view is clouded by a belief that El Barrack bin Husseini Ibn O'Bama has made a principled stance in a "Lasie Fare" (sp) foreign policy move that has in reality permitted a worse situation to emerge and become established in a classically un-statesman like manuever of incompetence. The situation in Egypt, to say again, is the cornerstone of the coming caliphate that is the goal of the Muslim Brotherhood that is what existed in the original form of Islam, and it is percieved to be the will of Allah, and is informed by the life and times of the false prophet. This is important, read it again if you have to so that you truely get it. Even though you do not share their religious views, or any religious views of any kind, to them it is of paramount importance and over-rides any and all other things and their own personal discomfort or loss of freedom or liberty in favor of the will of Allah is a small price to pay for their reward of paradise and eternal rest in Allah that is assured to those who lose their life in the advance of Islam. It is who these people are and it is how they think and live.

Yeah, thats what the propaganda says, but reality is far different and the rest of your post touches that more than the opening statement. The Muslim Brotherhood is not at all interested in a civilian non-religious governemnt. They are and have been puppet masters, even the economy and social issues are solved with adherence to Islamo principles.

No you don't. In Australia foregoing knowledge in favor of ignorence is a national passtime, especially as it pertains to America and Islam.

Throw your Islamophobia out the window for a second. What should America do in regards to Egypt? You say that Islam and democracy are incompatible. That would mean there's only a couple solutions you could take:

    A. Support another secular dictator taking over, which means you support dictatorship.

    B. Force convert everyone in Egypt to another religion, which means that you support dictatoship and are a Christofascist.

Neither. He's the guy who whipped the GOP in 2008 and will do it again in 2012. Because his policies make sense and are rooted in reality.

Unlike the Baggers' Willie Wonka Boat Ride.

You guys really seem to misunderstand internal Egyptian politics. I will not claim no one in the MB would like to institute religious government, because I know that isn't true. However, no matter what the civilian government looks like, the military will still exist in a state of exception. While they may accept a tenuous balance between democratically elected civilian government and themselves, they won't support that balance with a religious government. So I don't claim to know the intentions of the MB, but I do know the military is in place to stop them doing what you say they will do.

I find this post entertaining. While I consider Obama to have been a very poor president on domestic policy, I laugh whenever I see people claiming he's a Muslim.
But in this case, you don't use Muslim, you use "Islamist". So by that, do you mean he isn't a Muslim but um, promotes and supports Islam? Or did you just mean he's a Muslim?

You clearly do not know what the term "Islamist" means. It's synonymous with 'terrorist'.

The first definition of Islamist is One who studies Islam..

A Christian could be an Islamist if they study the Koran.

Islamophobia? You wish. I state facts well supported by history and current events.

Its too late for America to do anything because Chairman Obama choose not to act with leadership and guidence. He failed, yet again. A steady stream of failure defines Obama.

I did not say they were incompatable. I said they have no tradition of democracy and instead has a tradition of tyranny that is the core of Islam and that is what has always been the case, a democratic movement does not a democracy make, and that IS NOT what the Muslim Brotherhood is after.

Convert Egyptians? Thats rediculous. There is no such thing as a Christofacist and such a statement reveals a Christophobic Religious Atheist fundamentalist mindset as dangerous as an Islamo caliphate or the dogmatic religous Catholic political hegemony of the middle ages.

Ummmmmm....... NO IT IS NOT!! What an idiotic and absurd notion. I had to consider for a second whether or not this was a tongue in cheek remark or not!! I have decided it wasn't, but hope that it was. Al-Nahda is an Islamist party in Tunisia, and they are very very very very far from terrorist. There are Islamist parties across the Middle East, and most of them are not terrorist organizations. The only reason you think otherwise is because of a lack of education on this issue!!

He didn't fail!! Supporting Mubarak after his handling of the uprisings was politically impossible!! He was a spent political force. What happened instead was far better for our interests than clinging to the sinking ship that was Mubarak. We instead lent our support to the military leadership, which is far more powerful and capable than Mubarak was at the end. We handled Egypt about as well as we could if you are consider handling well, being defending American interests. Things could not have possibly turned out better for us.

PS. I don't want you to think I support Obama on this!! I don't. I dislike Obama immensely. It is just that if you analyze the situation from the perspective of defending American interests in the region, things turned out as well as they could have. Defending the interests of the people of the region, not always so much!!

An Islamicist is a specialist in the study of Islam.

By definition, a Christian could never be an Islamist...

If he had shown leadership in supporting a transition that would have been smooth and productive. He did nothing, and got nothing useful, and the whole niddle east looses, and the whole world is affected.

Leftists have some illusion that what is in front of them is all there is, and that actions have no consequences. Its a fricking mystery that they think like that.

    LOL, no it isnt.

It describes people who follow a specific religion. Thats it. Not all Islamists are terrorists (though a lot of them are).

At least not anymore. The "theocracies" of the middle ages could be considered Christofascist. Remember the Inquisition?
