Mary Nichols and Jerry Brown must be weeping crocodile tears. California continues to lose business to other far more business friendly states while those two half ounce brains continue to try to strangle the life out of jobs. The Austrian meathead didn't help any either.

Notice how they convieniently excluded state owned, county and city owned trucks and buses. Shove it to the businesses and exclude themselves. I should buy a parcel of land in a neighboring state, subdivide it and rent the tiny parcels with a mail box on it out as mailing addresses for businesses with fleets of trucks. Register their trucks out of state and to hell with CARB.

Clean air? What are those Californians thinking of? How can you think about being able to breath when there is a corporation that might need to make a profit!!

LA County has 1 1st stage smog alert for all of 2007. That's down from 118 days in 1975.

You could do that in Reno. I'll promote some of my clients to you. One of them is already talking about moving his ($50m) distribution business to Reno. The only real difficulty is moving the products during the heavy snow months as they are perishable and require fairly rapid delivery.

I am not for the courts subverting the will of the people or the elected legislature. This act came to be by referendum, but it was all based on a lie which the media never exposed.

The guy that gave the "statistics" lied. He got his diploma in a diploma mill and he had no expertise on the matter. It was a sham. Clean Air Acts have been important in California's history, but WE HAVE CLEANER AIR TODAY THAN WE HAVE HAD IN MANY DECADES. We don't need to further destroy our economy and inhibit business and jobs because some envirowhackos own the executive and legislative branches and pay lying hacks to create false statistics and arguments.

Stateists ALWAYS exclude the Nanny Government (aka: themselves), from the austerity that they seek to force upon others.

    1975 - 118 1st stage smog alerts.
    2007 - 1 1st stage smog alert.

I don't think we had any since then. The auto emissions control standards are doing their job. As the older more polluting cars die off and are crushed, they are being replaced with cleaner higher mileage cars.

These CARB jackasses are just nuts and are pushing things to the point of chasing off business, they must be throttled back.

Or school districts that are trying to supply busing for students AFTER the state cut transportation funding.

Yes, the diesel regulations affect school buses too.

And if corporations don't make profits, they don't employ anyone. Hopefully at SOME point the liberals in this state will figure that out.

Obama and the libs have a fallback position on that.

It's called redistributing the wealth to lazy Obama voters through lifetime unemployment checks and welfare.

That's the perfect progressive corporation - one that makes no profit and employs no one. If that weren't enough to provide a tingle down the leg, the New Corporation is also perfectly environmentally friendly, using no resources and emitting no hydrocarbons or evil CO2. All the progressive "corporation" requires are yearly federal energy grants deposited into Swiss bank accounts for supplying anonymous donations to Democrat candidates who upon gaining and maintaining political domination then ensure the continuance of the grants. It's the perfect progressive business model.

It exposes what a made up, non villian Carbon really is if they can simply drop these rules when they become inconvenient.

HB, you gotta save yourself from the liberal leaches. MOVE! I'd rather live in the basement of my Mom's house in the hills of Kentucky than spend a day surrounded by the loony left.

Just more evidence all that Global Warming alarmist theory is now turning into hot gas they way the "New Ice Age" scare did in the 1970's that never appeared. The Earth naturally warms and cools, it has for 4 billion yearslong before and will continue to do so long after Man becomes extinct.

All these carbon scientists and CARB bureaucrats should be stripped of every penny they own, stripped of their citizenship and deported permenantly. I hope they find a country that 'll take 'em.

Thank you for offering the data behind my point. There is simply no reason for the lunacy besides control and anti-growth agenda.

I stay for my elderly mother in law. The company I work for is wanting out so bad, but the President is in the same family predicament as me. If these elderly ladies pass... we move out and take almost 20 high paying jobs with us.

I'd like to be happy that a judge halted it, but we all know that some left-leaning doofus, probably with ties to green economy, will overrule him from his bench on the Ninth Circus Court of Appeals.

Let Brown and the Dems bleed CA white. Make an example out of them. But, not a Federal cent to help them. Let them stew in their own juices.

When I worked at Barnes and Noble we had two distribution warehouses for our stores in California in 1997. They closed both and built a new one in Reno.

In the late 90's into the 2000s local radio stations were inundated with warehouse and corporate licensing commercials from Nevada.

I'm surprised there is any business left in this cesspool, honestly.

Looks like going big government didn't help much. Turns out you can't rely on liberal snobs and jobless actors to support your economy.
Yes, I do know they by far have the largest economy of any state. It just makes the whole thing so comically pathetic.

It's sad how it's going in all these liberal states where the economy is rotting away. It's the same thing in Illinois. That's why Scott Walker is trying to make Wisconsin a Capitalist heaven, to be able to compete for the business evacuating the sinking ship. Even then our state faces competition for that from Texas and other southern states.

I certainly understand this hatred of clean air!

If I lived in Texas or Nevada, I would certainly want the air as brown and opaque as possible, as a vast improvement over those state's natural look!

    California already has clean air.

What we need is more jobs, and less burdensome regulations.
