Those morons can call it whatever they want. We call it "leaving Iraq". If they want to pretend that they defeated us because we left voluntarily and without defeat, then they can go ahead and pretend that.

Now, they certainly did "defeat" us with debt, but even then the bailouts caused more debt than the Iraq war. It is a shoddy victory at best however, but we didn't lose.

What they call "victory over the evil Occupier" is much like if a person I don't like enters the room and we have a political argument, and that person wins the argument and they stay in the room for a while. Then when he leaves I declare victory over his argument and do a victory dance.

I don't think you can lose unless you actually... Idunno.. suffer from something. The debt would have happened anyways and it's not like they did anything to us. Like Vietnam we got bored and left. ;)

That's what is so ridiculous about attacking these nations to allegedly rid them of dictators and prevent them from developing nuclear weapons. Are we going to re-invade every 10 years to accomplish this?

We can't afford to police the world, so the UN needs to step it up, or someone other than the US. We cannot have another neo-con in office, and yes, Romney's foreign policy team are the same old Bush Jr. preemptive war ball-busting imperialists.

    Down with Obamney '12

America suffered a political defeat in Iraq. The net effect is the same as a military defeat. Those who died did so in vain. The troops came home in defeat. Thanks Obama.

and what was the other option....stay in Iraq and accomplish what? and no those who died didn't die in vain. Troops in battle fight and die for each other, not some policy objectives of the government and not some political leader

I'm no Obama fan, but you can thank a bunch of neo-con liars for getting us involved in Iraq.

The troops failed to accomplish any objective. That's failure. Those who die for failure die in vain. Same thing with your president's fool's errand in Afghanistan.

Yes, they died in vain. Now that the US is leaving, Saddam will just continue killing his people. Nothing was accomplished.

I agree with you. But that doesn't change the fact that Obama brought the troops home from Iraq in defeat.

Saddam will rise from the figurative grave. Nothing was accomplished for America. America received nothing of value through this exercise in futility. The only thing that happened is that the divisions among the American people have become much, much deeper.

I agree, they should be put in prison for that....If I had a job that I screwed up so badly on that cost trillions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of lives I would have been put in prision the rest of my life....but these fools still walk amoung us...I only take satisfaction in the idea that history will remember them as fools and cowards

Did we manage to match Saddam's total kill count if only counting children that died from sanctions?
