    :-D
I did not know you could copy and paste your junk emails in this political forum and call them "threads"! what a joke.
in an unrelated story, I was just informed by a Nigerian that I won 20 million dollars!

Natural gas is good, but at best its a stopgap. It will run out, same as oil and coal, even if we have 100 years of it.

The tides and the thermal energy of the Earth aren't going to run out for millions of years.

Really? We can see why there is NO attribution for this idiotic "story"!

Even James Cessna won't take credit for this nonsense!

Exactly how big of a bill are you paying to God for your sunlight to make the process "expensive"???

Once a solar panel is made, the electricity is FREE for the lifetime of the panel! Come war or famine.

Then there are the solar generating stations that are NOT photovoltaic! These generating stations focus sunlight on a boiler to use steam turbines to make electricity! Just like gas does!

Ahh, but the right wing blogo-nuts will simply ignore the existence of those!

    This site is sinking fast.

Threads are started with 100% cut and paste spam emails with zero attribution, and the software robots that produce these kinds of "thread filler" are NOT "discussion".

    Fail.

And Obama is nothing but a public sector welfare baby.

But I don't hear you telling us to ignore everything Der Furher says just because he has a questionable background.

Liberals think they can't just will new technology into existence because they want it to be.

Which is hardly ever the case in real life.

    What message?
Progress is difficult, so give up?
With right-wing thinking like that, we'd still be walking or riding horses to get around.
Your "message" is ignorant nonsense and is the dishonest tactic of a political shill who doesn't have a clue about science or progress.

Well, we could also consider Obama graduated Magna Cum Laude from an Ivy league school, passed the bar, and had a successful career as an attorney, professor and president.

OTOH, we have this behavior from Jame Cessna's "source", which no doubt is what attracted him to the reference:

Magna Cum Laude really? Can you post a link to his college transcript so we can see for ourselves?

    Obama was never a professor.

He lectured at U of Chicago.

And I don't see anything in Der Furher's bio about a degree in science that would qualify him to be an expert on green energy.

Besides Obama has done such a lousy job as president it casts a bad reputation on other Harvard law graduates if he's the best they can do.

He was a failure as attorney, teacher, and president. And the ivy league school was only because of affirmative action.

And George Dubya was a failure as a National Guardsman, a businessman and was a drunk until he was into his thirties. His Ivy League school took him only because of who his father was. Yet I have seen you refer to George Jr. as a great President, SRM.

Geothermal power causes earthquakes and mudslides, and tidal power could kill aquatic life. The only viable option is to fine a new source of power that has a greater output of energy than oil. This country should start doing experiments with Helium-3 to tests its viability as a major source of energy. Solar is also a good option if we can find a way to place these outside our eletromagnetic field and atmosphere.

Do you have legitimate sources for either of these claims?

There are sources you can find on google, but I'm going to explain this logically to you. When you use geothermal power, you are displacing dirt and pooring water down into a pipe to be heated by the heat from the core of the earth. This causes intensely hot water to erode the dirt far beneath the surface. Thus you have ground collapses, earthquakes, and mudslides. This has already happened in Sweden.

With Wave turbines, you have turbine underwater that could hit marine life just like when birds are killed from wind turbines that spin around at fast speeds. This could disrupt fish migration and kill schools of fish that are sucked in. The energy output from these machines are relatively low and not worth the environmental impacts.

Again, sources. I'm not going to take your word for it. Post links.

    Sheesh

    Tidal Power

    Geothermal Power

    http://www.thelocal.de/sci-tech/20101208-31671.html

Again, all you have to do is look at this from a logical perspective. You don't need evidence or sources. With tidal power you blades spinning around in the Ocean. With Geothermal Power, you have a large displacement of dirt followed by Hot Water that erodes the ground beneath the surface. Its physics 101 stuff.

You know without any regulation Califrisco pays through the ying yang for energy.

CA pays the most for anything other than Hawaii, the residential electricity in CA (LA area) is about $0.20 per KWH for the consumer. Hawaii has the highest at $0.36 per KWH .

I don't know where you get the cost for your calculations, but if it is that much, who picks up the loss?

If the electricity cost's that much, I would just plug into the home outlet.

If you pay over $0.50 per KWH, you need to complain to your power company.

Anyone else think its funny that the same people that deny that fracking causes earthquakes are now telling me that geothermal power does?

It's not a matter of where are energy comes from, it is the amount we consume. I use to pay $300 a mo on electric and gas, I pay $49 mo electric and $37 mo gas during the winter! We don't use our AC in the summer, learned how the blinds and fan trick works. After learning how to do that, we keep our house at 71-73 degrees during the summer! We set the thermostat at 67 during the winter and wear hoodies and socks around the house. I replaced all the bulbs, and we only keep lights on in the room that we are in. I can afford to pay high bills, but I like more money in my pocket. My meter guy thought our meter was broken, so he had it replaced. Then he actually asked us what we do. I can go on for days in how we save money now, insurance is lower, we drive less and walk/ride bikes more. Use public trans, car pool, coupon shop for groceries. It can be done, however, many are too lazy to even try. Most just pay it and deal with being broke. Tired of it, think twice about what you do and find ways to save YOUR hard earned cash, the companies find ways to take it. Choice is yours, imagine if more people got on board with what I do. This nation is a group of followers, the more people do one thing, the more others jump on. Hopefully that day is sooner rather than later.

I will admit that I was wrong. I had never before seen anything about geothermal energy causing eathquakes.

However, if you were to turn around and now claim that fracking doesn't cause them, it would simply show your hypocrisy.

Yes indeed. A family of four can live very comfortably in america on $40,000 a year. It's amazing how people are brainwashed into buying status symbols like big cars and big houses. Living in a too-big house actually LOWERS your standard of living, but the fools can't see it.
