It's difficult to impossible to get a shotgun in Chicago. I live there. I know no one who isn't a cop who even owns a firearm there. If that woman lived in Chicago I doubt she would have been able to defend herself. Chicago makes its virtual impossible for law abiding citizens to own. Obviously, if you are a criminal, it's easy because you don't have to follow the laws.

My first choice for home defense is a sawed off shotgun, but since the liberals made it illegal, I go with a Glock 21. It never jams.

in canada people leave their doors open and people break in all the time and steal their things the difference is no one ever gets killed there because the homeowners don't act immorally and shoot people at the drop of a hat

all she had to do was announce she had a gun or at most fire a warning shot and they both would have ran away no one would try to attack or run toward someone with a gun pointed at them so the story is sensationalized

well I am not a conservative by any stretch but i would never leave my apartment door or windows unlocked, my parents always were careful to make sure the house was locked up at night and that hasn't changed since i moved out. All my friends and their families lock up.

Interestingly enough, my wife's parents never used to lock up (they do now sometimes) and i always thought they were crazy. They said it was because they felt safe in their neighborhood but you can never really know what could happen and a criminal doesn't need a firearm to be a serious threat to you or your family.

 

In Massachusetts, she'd certainly have been arrested.

Just ONE reason that state should be rented out by the acre for target practice.

 

The homeowner is defending both and there really are people who have worked all their adult lives and provide for themselves, including their furniture and all other essential necessities - THEIR property. They have every right to keep what THEY have PAID for w/THEIR own hard-earned money.......

If a thief breaks in to steal some hard-working guy's property and he ends up w/a bullet hole in him ... well, that happens when someone lives their life as a criminal.......

Hard to believe that a mother w/an infant would be arrested for shooting someone who broke down her door carrying a 12" hunting knife.......

 

LOL... Intruders are killed regulary in Las Vegas Metro area. The out of state crooks don't know their limitations of the law, and the Homeowners of LV do.

It's easier to say "i felt my life to be in danger" and shoot in the face or chest, than to say I don't remember what happened after the crook killed me.


But then again, there are some States where a crook needs to kill someone 3 times before the lock em up.
