But don't you think that Iran is fully aware that if push came to shove, the U.S. could annihilate them within a half hour? 90% of our assets and military clout haven't been used in either Iraq or Afghanistan. Neither military action has been exposed to our capabilities. They count on our fear of a 3rd world war if we were to pull the tarps off of our war machine. We wouldn't require boots on the ground for any other reason than mopping up. And no, I'm not suggesting nuclear. Our conventional weapon capability is overwhelming. Our Navy and Air Force are awesome and Iran has a huge exposure on the Persian Gulf. If Iran wants to pursue their saber rattling and take it to the next level, They'll have to pray to Allah that Obama gets another 4 years and can accomplish the dismantling of our military edge. We can commence with some serious concern if he is re-elected.
Bush never wanted to attack Iran. For years he tried to get the know-it-all Euro's and libs in this country to put diplomatic and economic pressure on Iran but no one wanted to do it. It could have avoided a war then but now who knows?

Most non israelis have long recognised the need to examine all the narratives rather than simply the official Israeli one. The U.S. doesnt have to 'beat' Iran as in take over and do another nation build---just bomb the critical mil/nuke facilities and let the majority of the Iranian ppl do the rest 'on the ground' to take back their country.
