Corporations are the heart of the Capitalist System, and CEO's and other executives are an absolute necessity for a Corporation to run and compete efficiently.

Only a corporation can establish the economies of scale necessary to bring innovative technology to the masses.

Only a corporation, a large one, can establish the global supply chains necessary to bring resources from all corners of the globe together, fashion them into a product, and put them on store shelves and make them affordable.

Corporations cannot have you locked up in jail.

Corporations cannot squash your freedom of speech.

Corporations cannot squash your freedom to assemble.

Corporations cannot squash your right to vote.

Corporations can and do "run amok", but to just harbor a generalized cynical hatred for corporations and the executives who run them or work for them is nothing less than an attack at the very heart of the Capitalist system and therefore, that makes such people Communists.

For if you have no Capitalism, then all you are left with is Communism.

There is a difference between reasonable regulation, and placing a choke collar around the neck of businessmen.

CEO's do not work for the public, they are not a Government agency and are not accountable to the voter. Corporations are not public institutions that society can just run by fiat. They are private property and their holdings are not part of the public trust.

What does that make US farming and aircraft manufacturing industries then? Both subsidised by US tax payers.

You're saying the US is communist?

Great 5 star post as shooting straight from the hip with the facts can be rather disheartening to the socialists out here that have no clue that America has been and will always be run by capitalism in all of its glorious forms. Egg sucking commies take a hike. :gun:

You make some very good points. But you are discounting the fact that many powerful corporations and CEO's use government as a tool to privitize their profits and socialize their losses. (This mostly applies to big banks and corporations that are "too big to fail"). They also use lobbyism to create economic regulations to put their small business competitors at a disadvantage. Both of these amount to government subversion of the free market in favor of corporations.

Many corporations and CEOs can get away with large scale fraud, especially the ones that are bailed out. They can simply bribe their way out of prison time.

But as you said, all of these are flaws of government, not flaws of the free market.
