Politically, it is a boon to the Republicans. It gives the jobs issue to them this fall.

But as far as the country goes, it was a dumb decision. I'm surprised he's actually doing it. He really does care more about his ideology than the economy or the country.

 

There's no justifying it. It's deliberately harmful to the economy and people.

China has negotiated a deal with Cuba to drill in the Cuban EEZ, which extends into the Gulf of Mexico.

The Russians are quite adept at "horizontal" oil drilling. I don't know a lot about it... but they're doing it.

 

I'm not sure where you're getting your information but studies are showing that the pipeline is mainly for getting the oil to refineries so it can be shipped overseas and will have NO IMPACT ON DOMESTIC USE and therefore IMPO isn't worth destroying land and environmental factors all the way across the U.S. if we aren't going to get anything but higher prices from it.

Actually real scientific studies that include the environmental damage from the pipeline find that it would be a net negative tot he American economy.

Yet Jam thru Solyndra did the Obama Adm.And many similar type
unsolid ventures.Yet put something on the job block that is almost

Considering the fact that the govenrment didn't lose any money on the Solyndra loan one who was smart would hardly call it a bad thing. Not to mention the FEDS green energy loan garrentees have a default rate below 2% which is ten times lower then private sector defualt rates.
Also has people have been posting since the begining the Piplines net economic effects would of been negative for America, meaning anyone who supports the pipline supports making TransCanada richer at the expense of the America people

 

Hey, all I'm saying is that you are not providing legitimate sources for your points. I've fact checked and debunked enough Think Progress articles that I know not to waste my time on it.

Here, let me help you out. Why don't you get a copy of the report from the EPA site that shows the contamination to the water table from fracking. Then I can post the study debunking that and so on. But if you are going to rely on Think Progress to do your thinking for you, you'll just wind up looking like an idiot.

All of the liberals dumping on the project and Trans Canada may want to read the decision, issued jointly by Owebama and the State Department.

It says the decision was NOT made on its merits, but blames the Republicans in Congress for not allowing enough time.

The Republicans are going to have a field day as anyone who knows the situation knows his is pure politics. The project isn't canceled. It's in a "state of limbo" until after the election and Owebama garners the enviroweenie vote.

The oil that would come through that pipeline is NOT FOR U.S. USE - it's being sent across the heartland of our country to be refined and SOLD OVERSEAS. The jobs it would create are minimal and temporary and in no way compensate for the damage to the country. Try getting some REAL FACTS instead of repeating RW platitudes.

 

It's a no-brainer for Conservatives who know nothing about it except RW propaganda. Do yourself a favor and do some research of your own.

 

Please site a credible source that ANY money was paid back to the government by Solyndra or any of the other now bankrupt solar energy companies.

 

Studies of the project have NOT been completed and it's the Repubs who are trying to jam it through before the American people have enough information to know whether they support it or not.

"20,000 to 1,000,000" jobs is BS. Whatever jobs are created would mostly be filled by Canadians - employees of TransCanada. The others would be the same as for the first pipeline - low-paying, temporary jobs. How long will it take to build the pipeline - a year? Two? What happens to the jobs when it's completed? The steel they use won't even be purchased in the U.S. and all the "support jobs" that spring up will also be gone in a year or two - unless they're planning to keep 20,000 to 1,000,000 employees who need to eat and have a place to sleep attached to the pipeline after it's finished?

The joke IMHO is that Conservatives are so easily duped into believing anything they're told.

 

I guess you dint get the memo that Solyndra was funded Via taxpayer
stimulus and a net loss of $540 Million.

That's over 100,000 jobs already.....and that does not fully consider the multiplier effect of ancillary jobs from that.

Furthermore, on land and offshore energy exploitation denied by the Crazed Commie Ideologue, The Political Charlatan, Racist Obummer.

 

I think that settles it, he has no interest in jobs or the energy future of this country. It's all about his political future.

 

Cut corporate taxes as he FINALLY has been forced to accept it seems.
Stop Obamacare.
Stop anymore stimulus schemes.
Open up MORE drilling.
Pass the pipeline legislation.
Let the housing market correct itself and stop his silly schemes.
Eliminate his new consumer protection department.
Put a moratorium on new regulations.
Make the Bush tax rate cuts permanent.
Stop extending unemployment.
Stop the class warfare.
Initiate tax reform with a flat tax or the Fair Tax.
