    Nope. As of 01/22/2012

TOYOTA USA. Market cap: $112 billions
    GM. Market cap: $39 billions.

Like I said, wake me up when GM market cap hits $50 billions then we talk.

is why Obama will win the 2012 election. The unemployment rate in 2009 more than double after the Bush collapse in 2008.

Romney and Gingrich are empty and hollow. The average worker has no reason to trust either of them.

I don't think you understand what "move those goalposts" means.

GM has been dining out on it's record sales for decades. It's easy to sell something when you sell it at a loss, which is what they had been doing for before Owebama handed them cash.

When GM nears the same profit margins as the Japanese and Germans, or even Ford for that matter we will pay attention. Maybe then they will be able to pay back the billions in interest they still owe the American people.

I don't think you realize your spinning attempt just fell flat.

Yes, in a thread about the bailed out GM succeeding, which conservatives strongly opposed, I'm somehow spinning because I'm not discussing market caps. Like I said, moving the goalposts.

I hope GM can continue making a quality product in spite of the influence of Obama and the auto unions.

But he ran off Bob Lutz who was the smart car guy.

Comical. If it weren't for Obama, GM wouldn't have the opportunity to make a quality product.

If it had been up to the Republicans they would have blown off GM totally.

Exceptions aside they never do, certainly not on this forum. There behavior clearly demonstrates they would rather have the nation tank, than Pres Obama be successful, i.e., I hope all of Pres Obama's politcies fail.

GM should have went into bankruptcy just like any other company. they would have come out even stronger than they are now.

The fact of the matter is, GM is closing plants in the states and moving to Mexico and Asia.

GM sales in 2007: 9,370,000 vehicles
Toyota sales in 2007: 9,366,418 vehicles

    GM profit/loss in 2007: -$38,730,000,000 (-$4,055 per car)
Toyota profit in 2007: +$17,146,000,000 (+$1,874 per car)

    .
    .
    .
They both sold the same number of cars......one had a profit.....the other had the UAW.
    .
    .
........being the top selling automaker may be worthy of a trophy........but to suggest it means long term viability and prosperity is a stretch to say the least.

Right the conservatives really hate the fact that GM was saved and has restored jobs as well as showing future potential to create more jobs. Conservatives not only want to stop the presses they want to stop the economy altogether if that would prevent Obama's re-election. That’s why the Republicans won’t win in 2012.

Yes I hate the fact my grandchilren were robbed to fund another round of union slobbery.........

.......but to suggest that GM was "saved".......

.......is to ignore the plethora of companies that have declared bankruptcy over the years......only to reemerge stronger and more profitable under new ownership and manangement.

Everytime you get on an airplane.......you should understand this tenfold....

Stopping Obama is improving the economy........

Its easy to run a company knowing you can spend all the money you want and never have to run out because its the governments money.

btw-GM vehicles are lacking...Chevy cars and trucks are really crappy.

Clearly we can keep GM #1 forever..........

.......as long as we steal Billions of dollars from We The People every couple decades to keep the UAW afloat.

here is an idea, lets take a company, give it to a union and screw the investors who put their own hard working money into the company. then we can just keep propping it up with tax payer money and give nothing to the tax payer in return?

I bought a Chevy new in 2009 and love the car. When I'm in the market for a new car in a couple of years, I'll look at the Chevy Orlando. I just don't see anything that I like in that class from other companies. It's good to see them actually making usable small cars.
