Military spending provides freedom, welfare provides demand, which allows us to utilize our infrastructure. Making people poor does not help any of us out. You act like I like poor people. I do not, I do not associate with very many poor people. But they create a service that makes the rich very rich because they spend more of their money than anybody else.

Uh huh. Your argument against me asking for raising taxes is for me personally to write a check to the Govt with out a tax increase. That is beyond stupid!! But you are a conservative, so it is expected.

So you don't believe in your claim that more money to the government will help more people.

More money should be poured into the government!

So why aren't you giving more the government?

    ............

You're busted. Thanks for walking right into that.

What? I never said more money should be poured in to the Govt. I said the Govt should spend more money. Your reading comprehension skills aren't the greatest. Your response to me saying that I want to protect children and the elderly was for me to write a check to the Govt.

I never said we should give the Govt more money, I said we should pay our taxes and the Govt should spend whatever is necessary to educate our children, protect our elderly, and protect our nation.

    You are just misinformed.

Yes. How could we do anything if you can't also spend everyone else's money too????

I think the point s/he was trying to make is that, if you want to help people, why don't you just do it? Conservatives do all the time, giving to charity without the government being involved in any way.

Stupid argument. We are talking about 100s of billions of dollars needed to support our children and elderly. That's like saying you can't support the military unless you join it. Very very uneducated arguments coming from you guys. Let me guess, you are Republican's?

The federal government spends over $10,000 per person annually for the federal benefits and privileges we all receive equally. Anyone paying more than $10,000 per family member on their families federal return is probably paying for their citizenship. The kid who puts a dime on the restaurant table when Dad pays for the families dinner didn't buy dinner. Neither is anyone who paid less than $10,000 per family member on their federal return an American taxpayer. Most, like little Timmy when he 'pays' 10 cents for a spaghetti dinner, are receivers letting someone else pickup the real bill.

Glad to hear you're a taxpayer.

this post attempts to minimize the tax contributions of the common man who does not pay enough taxes to compensate for his own upkeep in this country and is called a "net-recepient"

but here is a rebuttal from a billionaire taxpayer who pays more than his fair share of taxes to this country

"He makes his money the same way I make my money," Buffett said. "He makes money by moving around big bucks, not by straining his back or going to work and cleaning toilets or whatever it may be. He makes it shoving around money."

if that were true we would be political allies instead of enemies and this would not be worthy of mention by an ally

What's so funny is there are people with billions of dollars in this country and you guys are complaining about the bottom 50% who don't make enough to pay taxes. Lol!!! You guys have mad problems! And don't claim you guys are Christian's because Jesus definitely would not agree with your sick capitalistic greed.

Don't you know that Jesus only matters when it's convenient to get votes? When Bush said Jesus was his favorite philosopher, it shows that he was a complete political opportunist, because he was completely opposite of everything Jesus said. And Republicans think of themselves, in the words of the pastor Robin Meyer, as "God's Own Party." It's quite comical.

It's sickening!! You can't claim Jesus! Then they complain about people with healthcare and clap when people don't have enough money to afford health care. They also hate children and the elderly. They are the ultimate cowards and Jesus would take no part in the current Republican party. They are sick individuals who could care less about America or Christianity!

More that you need the state to keep your wealth. Either way, whether you theoretically need the state to get wealthy or not, the truth is that all of the people in this country that are wealthy have used the state and are using the state.

But we don't all receive those privileges equally. Everyone with more property is receiving more benefits from the government than people without property.

I don't know what the government spends in protecting my property, if anything at all. For the oil industry, it'll go to war on the other side of the planet and kill a million people, including a bunch of our own people. Who do you really think is getting more benefits?

Can you tell me why a large minority (47%) of us don't pay federal income taxes?

The answer is unemployment as well as poverty-level wages, both resulting from this recession. The answer is not that they are lazy, or untrained, or uneducated, or drug users, or opportunists taking advantage of laws that let them be impoverished. But slandering those who are in need is easier than helping keep them alive. Should we just leave them to lose their homes, rented or not, and to lose their dignity so they will feel more comfortable with crime to support themselves out of desperation? Are we so lacking in common human compassion? What ever happened to "compassionate conservatives"?

It's easier to live with yourself when you slander the poorest among us. That way, you can justify it to yourself in your mind that these people don't REALLY need help, they are just lazy welfare "whores" (in the words of a recent conversation I had with a friend of my cousins), and your voting for politicians that will cut their benefits is no big deal. In fact, they argue it gives them more incentive to actually be productive because welfare is just making them dependent. Gotta love the right's "reasoning."

Think of it this way...A large pool full of minnows or other small fish. The water is leaking out of the pool at an ever increasing rate, because some pr*ck republican keeps punching big holes and sucking out the water and filling his own pool, leaving the small fish without water, flopping around, sucking air for their very lives. The rich republican pigs each have 5000 over sized pools to themselves, several thousand of which they use for just for farting underwater in. They even insist that it only rain on them, as they collect more and more pools full of water as the other fish drown and dry up. Meanwhile, the republican pigs continue to fill their own pools even though they're overflowing and the water hoses running and spilling out under their feet, and not only, not turning the spigots off, but looking for way to increase the water flow and make their pools overflow faster and faster.

That's why we need taxes...for big corrupt fish that would sell you their excess water, rather than allow life to be sustained. The republican party of the obscenely wealthy...the party that only sees other people as fish. The republicans.
Tax the pigs...they deserve it, and have certainly "earned" it.

You form views of the world from hollywood films?

There's no wonder I've formed my opinion of you from your posts then.

Military spending destroys wealth, welfare destroys independence. These two things are irrefutable, however your claims of the benefits are baseless. Defense spending provides freedom, not military. And demand does not correlate into wealth, in fact it gives you more of the same.

How is fascism created without the threat of violence against peaceful people? Answer, it's not. Therefore, I deem you irrational and illogical. Here, you defend a fascist monetary system in which the freedom to use what one chooses as money is denied and punished.

You conflate society with government, which is another fallacy of the collectivist.
