Answering your post where you asked who's ground, now if you want to play internet lawyer, expect to be called out.

I don’t think self defense is going to work for them. We’ll see, but I predict guilty verdicts are coming.

It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for them...

Not all claims of 'felt threatenned' are justifiable self defense. This is what juries are for.

True, I am just pointing out where we have come with guns as a society when one can seriously claim self defense when involved in a public shooting that has killed bystanders

When you start shooting at random and kill innocent bystanders, it wasn't self-defense.

Perhaps you can do your own research and report back to the class.

But apparently it is a viable defense in Missouri based upon State law and the legal teams defending the two dimwits, they didn’t know where the shots were coming from and in self defense fired back in the direction they believed they were originating

In other words, I am correct, and you errored, self defense is the basis of Stand your Ground Law

Anyone can claim anything in court. Sounds to me more like a hail mary, resulting from a lack of any other defense strategy. A way for their lawyers to say 'well, we tried...'.

Stand Your Ground is a fairly new law, but only in name. Prior to that, it was generally accepted in 'common law' that people didn't have an obligation to try to flee an attack before defending themselves. It was the increasing tendency for local courts in certain areas to persecute people as 'criminals' for defending themsevles instead of fleeing that brought about the necessity to (re)establish a contrary precedent, which was then named 'Stand Your Ground' or 'Castle Doctrine.'

They only killed their attackers, not 22 innocent bystanders.

    I have no idea.

Self defense is one thing, but firing wildly is quite another.

Of course they're black. Why do you think their names and faces are plastered all over the place.

In my view, Rittenhouse is different because he was actually being chased and being beaten or had a gun pointed at him. In the KC case, the moron was being looked at. He's a black male karen with a gun instead of a phone.

I hope you're not a member of the Bar. If that's the defense they use, they can expect to be paroled sometime in 2060's.

BTW, can we, please, dispense with the Logic Fallacies? Please.

Funny, (ha-ha) that when there is a public, mass-shooting, leftists everywhere start screaming about Gun Control, but when an Illegal murders some unsuspecting, innocent American, I don't hear a peep from the left about controlling immigration.

Doesn't fit the 'Narrative' I guess.

could work, not sure if they spoke to cops early on, but if were smart and remained silent, a lawyer could use this defense

It might work if it wasn't for the fact that they got into a shootout because they "be got respecked".

I can hear the defense now: "I shot his ass cuz he be's eyebawlin me"...lol

No, you are not correct. Do the research. You can find out for yourself. But me simply telling you won't change your mind. Change it yourself by doing the research so you can fully understand it.

You must be confused on several issues.
Rittenhouse wasn't a stand your ground case. It was self defense.
And he never shot into a crowd. He only shot his attackers point blank.
So I have no idea where you came up with this stuff

But somehow only the rioters chasing him had the right to be there?

Irrelevant to the thread, I was just pointing out the error of the poster I responded to that the dimwits in KC weren’t defending their home

The attorneys defending the two are using it as part of their defense

No one compared these two to Rittenhouse, Rittenhouse is irrelevant here

Ah, no one is “screaming about gun control” nor did anyone imply “leftists,” rather the defense the lawyers for the two shooters intend to employ, and if it is viable using an open understanding of self defense

And your political prejudices are take away from your input, all of life isn’t a melodrama
