Very sad. For those of you who may not have known the Islamic world reaches all the way, at its Eastern-most extent, to the Southern third of the Philippines, where they have been having "problems".

Two bombs minutes apart tore through a Roman Catholic cathedral on a southern Philippine island where Muslim militants are active, killing at least 20 people and wounding 81 others during a Sunday Mass, officials said.

Witnesses said the first blast inside the Jolo cathedral in the provincial capital sent churchgoers, some of them wounded, to stampede out of the main door.

The initial explosion scattered the wooden pews inside the main hall and blasted window glass panels, and the second bomb hurled human remains and debris across a town square fronting the Cathedral of Our Lady of Mount Carmel

Police said at least 20 people died and 81 were wounded...

Jolo island has long been troubled by the presence of Abu Sayyaf militants, who are blacklisted by the United States and the Philippines as a terrorist organization because of years of bombings, kidnappings and beheadings. A Catholic bishop, Benjamin de Jesus, was gunned down by suspected militants outside the cathedral in 1997.

They had no other reason to attack this Catholic church other than the fact it was a religion that was non-muslim. Apparently in their religion, any other religion is seen as intolerable and violence and killing is justified to wage war on them, with the goal of either eliminating them or bringing them under subjugation.

The Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte has implemented a shoot on sight policy in the Southern Philippines for anyone carrying a gun who is suspected of being a muslim militant.

This has been somewhat of a controversial policy since many villagers in the area have taken to obtaining illegal guns trying to protect themselves from the militants.

Muslims are allowed to do this, Christians aren't.

The media will raise far more hell if a muslim worship place is attacked than when a Catholic church is blown to hell.
