Our country has for way too long been going through a cultural and moral death spiral, a place of corruption, moral depravity, self-destructive nihilism, and the death of a nation. We might be seeing a revival among our young people at Asbury University in the state of Kentucky. Maybe this is something real to offer us hope. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will heal their land." 2 Corinthians 7:14
Equal amount of good and bad in everything. There's a lot of really good things going on in this country, as well, it's just that the scum has boiled to the surface for all to see. There are many people who have had it with all the non-sense and we will be seeing more and more push-back against it as old institutions continue their dis-integration and new ones take their place. What you have seen over the past couple of decades is a gaggle of complete morons assume positions of power and do what these kinds of people do...reveal just how ignorant they are. Stay tuned as the future will be MUCH brighter [if we don't destroy civilization in the meantime].
With the OP mention of a death spiral I thought of this book -- a NYT best seller and riveting true life story that speaks to the reliance of faith to resolve a life or death situation. https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/lost-thomas-thompson/1125323644 https://www.amazon.com/Lost-Thomas-Thompson-audiobook/product-reviews/B07Q4F5R6Q This is a great read, thought provoking and I can say with all honesty that reading it should be an enjoyable experience. Certainly when I read it in the 70s I found it one of the most thought provoking books I had read. But if you are the "Cliff Notes" sort of person see the link below. Warning. Don't recomend doing this as it takes away for the intensity and suspense of the story. I will say that the link below is from a Christian who certainly does not share my conclusions, but she provides a good concise account of the story. http://www.dianasavage.com/whos-to-blame/
