    In 2011, about the same number of wolves terrorized parts of Yakutia.

    The indigenous people there claim they are being pushed into poverty from reindeer herd attacks. The exploding wolf population has led the people to drastic measures in order to protect their livestock. To curb wolf numbers a bounty has been placed on them equivalent to $400 per wolf.
