A couple few days ago DeSantis characterized the Russia invasion of Ukraine as a “territorial dispute”. A miracle occurred a day ago during a Piers Morgan interview. Now DeSantis says” his words had been "mischaracterized," adding that "obviously" Russia invaded last year, as well as Crimea in 2014, and was "wrong" to do so. Good boy Ron.
After getting criticized by fellow Republicans DeSantis is now using harsh words flr Russian President Vlad Putin about the invasion of Ukraine. DeSantis said "I think he's (Putin) is hostile to the United State. but DeSantis does not think that Putin has “the conventional capability to realize his ambitions,"

I am happy that he changed his tune but I am still suspicious. DeSantis is not a full supporter of Ukraine and it’s fight against the Russian invaders but a nice attempt.

What do you guys think, is this a miraculous reversal of a bad decision or did DeSantis step in it and is trying to scrape the dog poo from the soles of his shoes?

Just another politician. They’ll say whatever they need to depending how the political winds are blowing. Like every other politician in DC, they stand for little beyond their own power.

What next? Are we going to spend billions and fritter away our war stocks on Rhodesia? Sri Lanka? Venezuela? Maybe 100 billion for Lower Slobovia?

The sincerity level of all, is not exactly equal, nor even close to equal. Such a general statement, is clearly the result of one who has stopped trying to discern the individual differences, probably a long time ago, and probably after not much effort, to begin with.

I do completely agree with your assessment of DeSantis, though.

The war against Ukraine is a war against US , European security whether you understand it or believe it or not. This Russian invasion of Ukraine by Russia if we the free nations of the world do not help will come to affect our vital interests sooner or later. If you understand history read up on the NAZI Germany invasion and takeover of the Sudetenland part of the then Czechoslovakia. The blithering fool Chamberlain thought he negotiated “peace in our time” by letting Hitler keep what they stole and by doing nothing.
Go ahead read up on how well that went.

HINT: We had to enter the war to prevent that war to coming to the continental. US.

Are you consistent in your policy of not supporting good countries and our interests a cross the board. Do you support standing up with South Korea, Taiwan, Israel, etc or are you saying let them fight to maintain their own independence with no support from us?

    Time will tell Partizan.....

Politicians are who they are....they tell you what you wanna hear.....this one's a Republican....that one a Democrat .....when they're running for office. Theyre neither most of the time when/if they're elected. They're anything you want them to be once they're in......but don't forget to leave a check for your "donation" before you leave?!?:)

Of course, they have little choice. This kind of flip-flopping is precisely what the voters tend to reward.

That's right, which means he's not a leader.
Well hell yeah we will, if the MIC says so. I doubt the sheeple will ever figure out the con.

You must be talking about Putler and Muscovy, because then this is all dead on.

Ukraine was PART of the old USSR for decades... no one cared. Then it declared its independence. Good for them. But its not NATO.... NOTHING TO DO WITH THE US. If you think that Russia invading the Ukraine will come to the Continental US then you must have missed the Viet Nam War where all the radical conservatives said that a "Domino Effect" would result in North Vietnam eventually invading California.

Chamberlain surely was a fool. But there was nothing like NATO then. Putin knows the minute that he tries to grab any NATO territory, the entire globe goes up in flames. Chamberlain's day had no NATO so your analogy simply doesn't hold water.

I fully support our defense of NATO and SEATO nations. Ukraine has no such ties. Ukraine has no significant US "vital interests" involved at all.

Did DeSantis ever say Putin was not a war criminal? DeSantis is correct when he says there is a territorial dispute between Russia and Ukraine but he has always believed Putin is a criminal for the way he is trying to resolve the issue.

Really? I thought an attack against another NATO country was an attack on the US? Has Russia attacked a NATO country? If Russia didn't have plans on coming to the US well they probably are now.

I did not challenge him of whether or not Putin is a war criminal or not. Again you are attempting to change the subject.the war against Ukraine is an invasion not a simple territorial dispute. Simple as that!

It's an invasion....and ethnic cleansing....if Putler succeeds there....he'll move to Moldova, Belarus....(Kberg corridor), Baltic States(Putler won't be deterred if it's Nato and no one does nothing).

The only Russians with plans to come to the US are those fleeing conscription.

And I suspect there's many that have fled and landed here....what their background is....is another story. Wolves in sheep's clothes looking to start chaos?

You said DeSantis changed his mind about Ukraine. What was it he changed his mind about? DeSantis has always said it was a territorial dispute and that it was not our business and DeSantis never said Putin wasn't a war criminal.

And when I was in the Army in the 70's we were told if we didn't defeat communism in Vietnam it would come to the US. We lost the war and here we still are. When you've lived long enough you see the same old BS lies come back around. DDSS. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.

So why then is the war against the US? Sounds like wild fear mongering. Remember Vietnam and how everyone was told we needed to defeat communism there or it would come to the US? We lost in Vietnam so where are the communists?

I understand that Russians have been coming up through our southern border. I am sure that Moskhailnyks stick out when mixed in with South and central illegal aliens. Russians could be using trickery ( oh hell just plain lying) to claim they are looking for political asylum.

No what we were told and it it appeared very logical is that South East Asia countries would fall like dominoes. Some politicians did use the logic trope that it is better to fight communism over there than here. Well that is a bit hyperbolic Vietnam was obviously not a China or a Russia. Communism could have taken hold here back during the Depression it not in modern times.

We did not lose the war militarily we lost it politically and we abandoned the war due to the ever growing anti war movement which was fueled by the USSR (Russia) and by domestic communists and ‘useful ‘ idiots’.

Actually DeSantis said it was primarily a territorial despite, that the U.Sm should send defensive weapons, but that we should not go all in by providing offensive weapons due to the risk of nuclear war. I disagree with him as Putler needs to be pushed completely out of Ukraine.

That said, several of the lefties here are lying about the man's stated position. Either that or, as usual, they didn't even bother to listen to what he said prefer to just be told what to think by some lying partisan media

Not sure what media that would be. Even the leftiest of left CNN and MSNBC will tell people what he said if they care to read past the headlines.
