If you are squeamish or are a squirrel lover read no more.

These little bastards are the scourge of the backyard. They steal all my peaches, figs and now pecans!!!

    Look at my patio:

I can sweep up and the next day it will look the same.

But I finally got the big fish. The other 6 were nothing. This one was sly, cunning. Ran the moment I opened the patio door but I finally got her today! Vengeance is MINE!

I've been using an RMS Hamerelli 850 Co2 rifle but I'm selling it and waiting for this bad boy to come next week.

You're right about the number. I've killed at least 20 in the past month and they keep coming. But to kill the really sneaky ones is extra special!

I just had my first little fig crop this year and next year I'm hoping for more and apricots and plums, too.

If I had squirrels (which we don't down here in AZ) eating my crops, I'd kill the little (*)(*)(*)(*)s too! What I do have are pigeons!!! And I'm working on a way to rid myself of them. But they can't be shot in town - some silly law about not discharging a weapon in city limits or something...

Isn't there a more humane way to kill them, or to drive them off your property?

I should have payed heed to the warning. I leave food out so they'll come around. They're amazing little critters, hilarious too.

I've tried it all. Noise, predictor urine, traps. Nothing works.

I know one guy who owns a pecan farm who can keep them at bay. It literally takes a cannon, shot off twice a day. Pretty sure the neighbors frown on that.

You should get a wiry cat for the yard.. a mixed breed or tabby .. not one of the lazy, decorative breeds.

I take absolutely no credit for this story - I don't know who wrote it, or whether or not it's true or false. I think it was sent to me in an e-mail years ago, or perhaps I saved it from another website - I can't remember. All I know, is it's funny!

One can also hang bells and noisemakers in the fig trees..

That would be very difficult, of course, in pecan trees.
