Here is the list of the top 24 killers of humans by animals world wide.

    To summarize:

1 - other humans (crime, warfare, car accidents, etc.)
2 - mosquitoes (1 million humans killed worldwide per year)
    3 - biting flies (400 thousands)
    4 - snakes (50 thousands)
    5 - scorpions (5 thousands)
    6 - hippos (3 thousands)
    7 - crocs (2 thousands)
    8 - elephants (5 hundreds)
    9 - jellyfish (3 hundreds)
    10 - cape buffaloes (2 hundreds)
    11 - tigers (hundreds)
    12 - deer (120 from car accidents)
    13 - domestic dogs (100+)
    14 - wolves (100+)
    15 - African lions (70)
    16 - bees (50)
    17 - ants (30)
    18 - cows on farms (20)
    19 - horses (20)
    20 - leopards (15)
    21 - sharks (10)
    22 - bears (10)
    23 - spiders (3 in USA)
    24 - bulls (3 in USA)

As for myself, I am most at risk from the following:

1 - other humans (crime, warfare, car accidents, etc.)
    2 - snakes (50 thousands)
    3 - deer (120 from car accidents)
    4 - domestic dogs (100+)
    5 - bees (50)
    6 - bears (10)
    7 - spiders (3 in USA)

To minimize these dangers I take the following precautions:

a - drive carefully and under the speed limit
    b - don't go into dark alleys
c - always armed with several weapons
d - wear hiking boots and snake gaiters in the woods and mountains
e - stay away from bee swarms
f - bring a slug shotgun with me into the woods and mountains
g - check for spiders and catch/release them outside with a clear plastic cup.

    What are YOUR risks?

What do YOU do, if anything? In denial?

... "in denial" = "it can't happen to me".

I purposefully live in an area primarily free of Human offenders, but do have weaponry as a precaution. My secondary deadly animal would be arachnid and is fairly easy to avoid, but should that scenario occur my wife is an RN so I am not terribly worried.

In Texas, primarily human, though I haven't had any problems since I have 2 large dogs. I don't worry about spiders, the guinea hens take care of them. They are also great watch dogs. I'm not sure if they eat scorpions, but I haven't seen any in a long time. We also had a Mexican free-tailed bat colony installed in the back acreage by the pond. Sure does help with bugs.

As for automobile accidents, I drive classic steel body leviathans. Heavan help the modern car that runs into one of these behemoths. I also like the fact that they are easy to work on.

I thought mosquitos would easily be first.
