I purposefully live in an area primarily free of Human offenders, but do have weaponry as a precaution. My secondary deadly animal would be arachnid and is fairly easy to avoid, but should that scenario occur my wife is an RN so I am not terribly worried.
In Texas, primarily human, though I haven't had any problems since I have 2 large dogs. I don't worry about spiders, the guinea hens take care of them. They are also great watch dogs. I'm not sure if they eat scorpions, but I haven't seen any in a long time. We also had a Mexican free-tailed bat colony installed in the back acreage by the pond. Sure does help with bugs. As for automobile accidents, I drive classic steel body leviathans. Heavan help the modern car that runs into one of these behemoths. I also like the fact that they are easy to work on.
