....the thing is if she'd had come forward and admitted it (assuming she wasn't as pissed a fart at the wheel or something) then all she'd probably have got would have been a slapped wrist, community service and a 5 year ban....something like that.

BBC is now stating she will not attend the sentencing.

The judge has said if she turns up it would be a genuine sign of remorse. The American government has reportedly advised her not to attend in person on Thursday, a video link has been agreed.
I have no idea what her sentence will be or how and where it will be served.
I certainly think the distress of the Dunn family won’t be overcome easily. Losing a son, a twin, and then all this stuff where America interferes with British justice is undoubtedly painful.
The whole story is Sacoolas taking a life and looking like she is not giving much of a damn, because the boy was a foreigner and Uncle Sam will rescue her anyway.

I say that even though she has diplomatic immunity that she should have to be responsible for her actions and should stand trial in the UK for her actions. And should that also involve jail time, she should have thought about that before she "accidentally" killed someone. There shouldn't be a get out of jail free after you kill someone because youre not a citizen of that country and your home country shields you from prosecution.. Or... she should face charges in the US for the crime. And have to pay damages to the family, etc.

Thanks for blowing my mind twice in the same post.... Bringing this topic back up and posting something I fully agree with...

Had to Google this woman to see how this turned out late last year.... Harry's mum seemed happy enough with the outcome. If she is, there isn't much reason for us not to be.

Charles said she was satisfied to have fulfilled the promise she made to her son. “Anne Sacoolas has a criminal record for the rest of her life. That was something she never thought she’d see, something the US government never thought they’d see,” she told reporters, adding that she and the family were not invested in the sentence the judge was going to hand down. “For us it was all about doing the right thing, getting through the UK justice system.”

Looking up to the sky, she said: “Harry we done it. We’re good. We’re good.”
