Clinical test of Hydroxychloroquine only. It is prescribed with a combination and works well.

A better description is wet firecracker. He forwards not ignores one single email out of the scores if not hundreds he would have had to manage during the height of the COVID crisis and suddenly Fauci's supposed to be neck deep in a global conspiracy hide the potential benefits of HCL from the general public?

And of course the fact this email dates from early on in the pandemic when HCL was first being raised and trialed as a potential treatment, not later after multiple trails in multiple labs across the western world found it wasn't is irrelevant I suppose?

Now go and find anywhere in the world where it is currently being used on a widespread basis treat COVID. And by used I don't mean by individual practitioners, I mean widely across public health systems. If you d you might have a point. But you don't because you won't find any.

And that's not because its in short supply (now) or because its being secretly stockpiled for use by 'global elites'. It's because its proven not to be effective either as a treatment for COVID or as a prophylactic because of potentially dangerous side effects. Plus of course it's also because several other drugs used singularly or in combination have been proven to be effective in treating COVID and are in widespread use as a result. All of which BTW are the cold, hard, unavoidable facts of the matter.

smokers seemed to be the least hospitalized, that was a big one, but they never figured out why, and most were afraid to pursue this more

"Smokers Hospitalized Less Often for COVID-19"

    https://www.webmd.com/lung/news/20200430/smokers-hospitalized-less-often-for-covid-19

"One hypothesis is that nicotine, which has anti-inflammatory properties, may interfere with the way that COVID-19 causes an overreaction of the immune system."

"Data in the U.S. look similar as well, according to the CDC. Among 7,000 hospitalized patients, about 1.3% were current smokers and 2.3% were former smokers, though about 14% of the country smokes."

only 1.3% of hospitalized COVID-19 patients were smokers, the other 90+ percent were non-smokers....

if a pharmaceutical drug had results like that, it would have been considered a miracle drug

Interesting, if so you'd think the effect would be mimicked by people using nicotine products to try and quit smoking as well. You'd think there be a large enough population of those to at least check if similar results were apparent.

unless it's that smokers lungs are better at cleaning themselves out

they say if one is an excessive smoker, then no benefits though

kinda like the sun, a little is good, too much can be hazardous to ones health

the body gets stronger from mild stress, but excessive stress does not amplify that effect - jogging is healthy, too much can be harmful, the list goes on and on

it's why when one drinks the first time, they get drunk easier and with time can drink more and not get as drunk... epigenetics helps the body adapt, muscles get stonger, ect.... with repeated stress, even an occasional cold or hot shower can cause a stress that can be beneficial for the body if not done to excess

One more time for the slow readers, it worked for some, did not work for others. There was no magic bullet with COVID

Do you know what percentage of people are needed for clinical testing? I'm not sure and was quite surprised by @FreshAir's post where it's stated that 14% of the population smokes. I would have never guessed that anywhere near that number.

I agree that it would be interesting to have them explore this further.

I'm like this. I never get drunk from beer (not even the first one I ever had). I'm not an alcoholic so it's not that my body has grown accustomed to it. It just doesn't do anything to me. I have a couple of prescriptions that have a side-effect of drowsiness that have never made me drowsy. Benadryl doesn't do it. Melatonin doesn't do it. It's weird.

I think it will be interesting if they explore this more. I'm guessing that "excessive" would vary between people so they'd have to find some magic number for when it's helpful. Now, I'm wondering if there is a difference between people that recently started smoking versus ones that have been smoking for decades.

I'm not sure that many people would need to actually volunteer for a research project. If you could devise a program that crossed checked use of nicotine products vs COVID symptoms via anonymized sales/meta data you might get answers. That said hindsight is a wonderful thing! I have no idea how you'd organize that post the worst part of COVID.

Some of us, referred to as conspiracy theorists by many, have known for nearly a year that Fauci is a fraud.

David E. Martin researched the records of the US Patent Office a year ago, and those records show that Fauci and others have been serial violators of a number of federal statutes. From that data he constructed what he calls the Fauci Dossier.

Rand Paul is one of the very few good guys in the Congress.

    WOW do you have Fauci!!

Are you aware that this product was used in a good number of hospitals as they struggled to find practical solutions using existing products?

Hundreds of thousands died from COVID in the USA because the USA had an executive branch that simply didn't choose to give this problem the real attention that we could have given it.

Then, you blame Dr. Fauci, because he didn't respond to mail from some physicist???

It is an untrue statement to say that Trump didn’t fight this Chinese inflicted China virus.

Fauci has not just lied to Americans, he lied to President Trump.
Biden truly likes this liar however and says he sees no way to fire the liar.
OK, think that is hype? Watch this video. Just keep an eye on the proof that Fauci is an enormous liar.
Biden should fire him. Actually his salary is higher than is Biden's

Steve Scalise Is Gunning for Dr. Fauci. “Americans deserve answers from the doctor whose every utterance was treated as that of an Olympian deity by the left and much of the media, and who benefited from social media censorship against anyone questioning him.”

Scalise may be a better choice for speaker than McCarthy.

Fauci was and is the best person for the job he is in, which is why he has a presidential medal.
