New Study: There Is No Extreme Precipitation, Drought, Flood, Hurricane, Tornado….Climate Crisis

By Kenneth Richard on 10. February 2022

After a thorough examination of extreme weather indices across the globe, scientists (Alimonti et al., 2022) have concluded “none of these response indicators show a clear positive trend of extreme events.” Therefore. “the climate crisis that, according to many sources, we are experiencing today, is not evident yet.” There is an “absence of generalized growth […]

    Intense rainfall events are up.

Quite a narrow focus. No mention of Australia for drought (or fire - that's a lemon right there). No inclusion of extreme flood events in recent years.

No mention of glaciers, of course.

The topic is global trends so I'm not sure why you should demand specific coverage of Australia. Regardless, we aim to please.

Alarmist Scientist Tim Flannery’s Drought Prediction Contradicted… “Heavy Rainfalls” 3 Years In a Row
    By P Gosselin on 21. October 2022

By Snow Fan Source: Australian Government, Bureau of Meteorology La Niña continues to ravage Australia for the third year in a row, and for the third time this year – instead of the increasing drought that was predicted a few years ago – Australia is experiencing repeated flooding. Eighteen years ago, Australia’s climate commissioner and […]

New Study: No Trend In Compound Natural Disasters Across Australia Since 1966
By Kenneth Richard on 13. September 2021

Three new studies affirm there has been no significant change in natural disasters, precipitation, or bushfire across Australia for the last several decades. Instances when perilous flooding, drought, bushfire, cyclones, storms, heatwaves…occur at the nearly same time are classified as “compound disaster” events. Across Australia, there has been no statistically significant trend in compound disaster […]

I looked at the research the article was referencing. It pointed out people largely support climate change mitigation but it seems a bit dishonest representation that most people support the Democrat approach.

I support some things to mitigate climate change not because I think they mitigate climate change but because less pollution is better objectively. I take absolutely no issue what so ever at making efforts to pollute less I think it's a great idea.

Where I diverge is laws being made to try and give electric cars on people crippling our commerce to reduce oil production.

But for instance I was in whole foods the other day getting condensed coconut milk and eye level I saw a shelf with cup cake wrappers on it with a bit of copy the written in it and I read how the material used to make them comes from sustainable bamboo sources that make every effort to reduce water consumption and environmental impact. I found it... Charming that there are people out there that care enough about that even though I don't.

Sorry but do you think the scientists writing the IPCC reports are unaware of this?

Good so you can tell me how the pill was conducted as it appears a large number of American political polls are euther done online in which case they can be hacked or they are conducted by random calls to landlines

    Fair enough.

Some people do care about those little details, virtue signalling though you may consider it to be. I think consumer purchasing power plays a larger role then you think.

I wouldn't consider it virtue signaling. If they bring it up that they buy cruelty free vegan ice cream to die that they are a caring person then it's a virtue signal.

If you aren't signaling it's just virtue.

I think innovation is the only hope to reduce pollution. Think about fracking. This is an innovation that did more to reduce greenhouse gas emissions than all other efforts put together because it made much cleaner burning natural gas so cheap powerplants were built to use it to produce energy. Consumer really doesn't care, as long as the lights are on.

It's a cult like belief designed to keep people in a perpetual state of fear and anxiety. If they can keep them that way the people will literally beg the government to control their existence in the name of " safety and the greater good".

Only big daddy government can be your savior!

Well, the question was phrased as most important, not that it wasn't important at all.

Immigration, China, voting rights and crime all ranked 1-2%. Does that mean we shouldn't put attention on these issues?

The main direct effect of global warming mitigation is the decimation of the middle class and the increase in poverty, all because the high cost of mitigation will be mostly borne by those groups. It is true that some top level warmists openly espouse the altering of economic systems as a top result from their efforts, which implies a more equitable wealth distribution. But the actuality would be a more concentration of wealth in a smaller group of people and corporations.

    I trust the science.
    Gissing et al., 2021

“Here we utilise an Australian natural disaster database of normalised insurance losses to show compound disasters are responsible for the highest seasonal financial losses. Though their component events occur most frequently in the eastern seaboard, they may also comprise disasters on both sides of the continent. There has been no temporal trend in their frequency since 1966. A new compound disaster scale is proposed for Australian conditions. A bootstrapping analysis reveals the pairing of Bushfire and Tropical Cyclone to occur far less often than would be expected by chance. This is because these perils occur most frequently under contrasting climate states. Climate variability influences the frequency, intensity and type of perils contributing to compound disasters with the clearest relationship being with the El Niño Southern Oscillation. Given that ENSO is the most predictable climate driver at seasonal timescales, this may assist better forecasting of their occurrence and higher degrees of readiness.”

The bold sentence refers to three separate papers, all presented and linked in the NTZ post. I'm not the one who needs to focus.
