If MLK is for equity, that doesn't make MLK correct nor democratic. I see all the signs from equity, er, reparations, er, wokeness as being anti-democratic, for example.

EDIT: How is it any less democratic for the capitalist to say one has to achieve in their world or ideology than to have the black community say one has to achieve in their world or ideology?

Then you are calling MLK anti-democratic and woke.

If the quotations of MLK that you've provided are true, yes...MLK would nicely fit in with the rest of the really bad leaders and influencers in the black community.

What's wrong with my honesty? I think I'm, at least, as smart as you.

And anyone as smart as me would know this was a straw man question. There's nothing wrong with your honesty. You tried appealing to MLK and then found out he was one of your "woke" enemies.

Maybe one day you'll also learn what's internally inconsistent about your first sig quote. Hint: Communists hate class distinction and want to get rid of it. That's the whole ****ing point.

You enlightened me. I'll have to be wary of MLK in the future. MLK isn't good for the black community (if the black community wants to achieve successes).

    Do you have Multiple Sclerosis?
Do you believe that MS exists? Why do you believe that if you've never had it?

Same with being Transgender. You've never had it. You have no idea what it is like to be transgendered. And yet, because it doesn't fit in with your preconceived notion of the word, and even though you don't hold any expertise in the subject, you write it off as something that doesn't exist.

You are no different than someone who says MS doesn't exist simply because you don't have it.

SCOTUS decided that the protections provided by government must be equally offered.

But, the point in this thread is that the SCOTUS referred to the constitution, not to a religious work, the Pope, or to the Evangelical Christian denominations that so actively hate gays.

Had there been justifications for discrimination in marriage, the court could have ruled otherwise. But, religions don't provide such justifications.

You might want to look up Brown v. Board of Education

"Separate but equal" rarely passes Constitutional muster.

Just from a logical standpoint, what is the point of being legally separate but equal?

    One Supreme being?
    How about Genesis 1:26? Thoughts?

26Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness, to rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it.”

There are other verses in the Hebrew writings, but far more times God is referred to in the singular: “I am the LORD, and there is no other; there is no God besides Me” Isaiah 45:5

Personally I don't find this troubling. The New Testament doctrine of God as the Trinity is one way of explaining this, but I don't think that is even needed. God reveals himself to us in many ways: creator. father, mother, maker of rules, judge, redeemer, etc. It isn't required of us to fully understand the nature of God to understand He is sovereign, nor are we even capable of it: For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
    1 Corintians 13:12

That is the role of faith.

To ensure that all protections are equal, why not make all Mets fans Yankee fans, then? Why not demand that all Iowans be called New Yorkers?

BTW, protections were equal for the same sex couple V. the hetro-marriage couple before same sex marriage was decreed by SCOTUS, so , I don't understand your point (or others', quite frankly), that giving marriage to everyone ensured equal rights for everyone since same sex couples had equal rights to hetro marriage couples before SCOTUS decreed same sex marriage....Or are you just as hung up on the word marriage as I am?

Separate but equal is how everything is and has always been. Right now, the white person is separate but equal to the minority according to the Biden Administration, for example?...Or do you wish to complain about the separate but equal?:roflol: treatment of whites, for example, by the Biden Administration????I thought not.

For example, even after same sex couples got same sex marriage, they still (and always have) demanded their recognition of being separate but equal to hetro couples. You know, you can't demand separate but equal for you and everyone else but then demand there be no separate but equal in marriage...That would be hypocrisy...That is the hypocrisy on the part of same sex couples.

    Elohim
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This article is about the Hebrew word. For other uses, see Elohim (disambiguation).
Elohim in Hebrew script. The letters are, right-to-left: aleph-lamed-he-yud-mem.

Elohim (Hebrew: אֱלֹהִים, romanized: ʾĔlōhīm: [(ʔ)eloˈ(h)im]), the plural of אֱלוֹהַּ‎ (ʾĔlōah), is a Hebrew word meaning "gods". Although the word is plural, in the Hebrew Bible it usually takes a singular verb and refers to a single deity,[1][2][3][4] particularly (but not always) the God of Israel.[1][2][3][4][5][6] At other times, it refers to deities in the plural.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

Yep. Elohim is a plural noun. I've heard claims before that it was used with singular verbs, but every time I've tried checking that out, that's ended up being a false claim. Every instance I've found has been with elohim being a plural noun associated with plural verbs. But I'll check out these sources that claims singular verb use. They may be correct. It's just that, in my experience, these claims tend to end up playing out false.

I've never seen a more ridiculous description of what the SCOTUS is chartered to do.

And, your idea that same sex couples were treated equally by our government before same sex marriage was allowed is just a factual mistake.

You need to read about the state legislation for same sex couples before same sex marriage was decreed by SCOTUS. It would open your eyes...maybe.

There are 50 states. Old law is not always easy to find, because people are interested in current law.

If you have a point, make it.

Yeah, as I said we know about God through the way He manifests Himself to us in our lives: "God reveals himself to us in many ways: creator. father, mother, maker of rules, judge, redeemer, etc."
