No, the town I grew up in was overwhelmingly Republican, like pretty much every other pro-Confederate town these days. Try looking up Vidor one day . . . You know, after you pull a 180 and are willing to consider facts.

Read your post #63 this thread. You say Wikipedia is a better source than anything I used. That’s making a relative claim. Send the money to the Ron deSantis election fund.

The only reason you're not calling it insurrection is because he won. The USA did not even exist at the time. It only exists because his insurrection was successful

He was a slave owner just like the civil war figures in history that people wish to erase

How would it have been an insurrection? Your imagination is running wild.

But, unlike them, he didn't wage war on our country for the sake of slavery. And no one is trying to erase anything . . . except for those who still try to defend the Confederacy with fake excuses.

Of course he didn't wage war to stop slavery he was too busy owning slaves. That should be pretty self-evident.

It was an insurrection because it was a rebellion against the country that they were part of. That should also be pretty self-evident. You know we didn't just land in a boat from nowhere and declare ourself America right? We were a colony of England who rebelled. An actual real insurrection. With scary guns and stuff like that.

A nation built on insurrection and "stolen land" oh my!!!

    Re:
Just so I understand you correctly, does that include the statues and monuments to long dead former slave owners and Confederate leaders?

    Thanks,

Robert E. Lee is studied at West Point as one of the TEN GREAT CAPTAINS in history. His tactics and strategy are key learning points at the academy. They always will be, even if wokism seeks to destroy his name.

Yes. Hell, it would include a statue to Hitler. Don't destroy other people's property, no matter how much it offends you. Don't even so much as tear off someone's bumper sticker.

And his military strategies should be studied. And no one is "destroying his name." But naming military bases after our military enemies is no different than naming a synagogue after Farrakhan or a teen beauty pageant after Epstein or a driving school after Ted Kennedy.

Then you now know why your comparison made no sense.

Then England probably shouldn't name any of its military bases after Washington.

You still don't understand what I'm saying: I'm against naming military bases after our military enemies. That's it. That's all I'm saying. None of your comparisons address this.

LOL I get it, white robes, white hood, white flag.
You really get into that KKK stuff?

is it because it’s not a charity? Then send your $1000 to the National Christian Charities Foundation.

I've literally talked people out of joining the KKK. As well as trolled them when they were holding a rally in my home town.

Because you didn't quote me saying that truth is relative or supporting slavery.

Here we are... on the fugging brink of a nuclear "Armageddon" -- as President Biden has put it... and all our wonderous Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, can find to do is to use his 'woke' Black leverage to rename our military bases...? You can hear even more howls of laughter in Moscow and Beijing!
