Yes. Happens all the time. Have you ever heard of Paris Hilton, Anna Nicole Smith, the Kardashians? I don't make that assumption. yeah again I doubt the thing I'm talking about is funny to anybody.
That doesn't apply. All of the ones you named provide entertainment value because the general public is nosy. We want to know how the other half lives or we like rubbernecking train wrecks. So, while the attraction to that is toxic and dysfunctional, NONE of the aforementioned people would have reached the status they did if somebody, somewhere, was not making a lot of money because of it. Decades ago, I registered for us to be in the studio audience at "The Jerry Springer Show". I was born and raised in Chicago and settled in a nearby suburb when I got married but have never attempted to be in the audience for Springer or Winfrey or other daytime talk shows recorded in Chicago. Well, put a picture in your mind of what that might look like. Whatever you came up with is probably *wrong*. The topic the day we were in the guest audience was so awful that it was *never* aired. Yeah, it was just that bad. Around that time, John Bradshaw had a daytime talk show and he *only* focused on positive stories (everyday heroes, brave people, resilient people, etc.). Springer's show was going strong and Bradshaw's show was cancelled. I asked my mother about it as she was a licensed therapist and psychologist and I told her about what we saw during that taping and was perplexed. She told me that when we watch television shows and/or personally know someone whose life is a train wreck, we feel better about ourselves because we are not in their position. When we watch television shows and/or know someone whose life is successful, we feel worse about ourselves because we are not in their position. Therefore, it is clear that your examples aren't representative of "positive, talented people" but "obnoxious negative people" and it is much easier for the latter to be of interest because of how the human brain works. The rest of your response doesn't make sense to me so I'll end here.
