The country of Austria is preparing to legally require its citizens to have to take the Covid vaccine. 66% of the population in the country is vaccinated. That means 66% of the population is going to try to force the remaining 34%. Ah, tyranny of the majority... Apparently the politicians have been convinced that the vaccine will prevent the spread, and therefore believe forced vaccination is justified as a government policy, even though that's not really backed up by the actual science so much. (related thread: Large groups of vaccinated people still getting infected ) So apparently a 66% vaccination rate isn't enough to prevent a spike in infections. Would 100% really be? (that's just a rhetorical question, I don't mean for us to actually get into that debate here) Those who don't comply will face fines, and ultimately prison sentences if those fines are not paid. Austria's government right now is headed by an unlikely coalition between the moderate conservatives (liberal-conservative Austrian People's Party) and the Green party, with the moderate conservatives greatly dominating over that alliance. The Freedom Party only holds 16% of the seats.
I usually like the attitude: "when it's broke, fix it". It will be interesting to see how their country ends up compared to others.

Are you against the idea of government mandate ALL and ANY vaccines or are you just against government mandating the covid vaccine. IMO those are 2 different things. 1. If you are against all vaccine mandates then you legitimately believe in the personal freedom to choose the vaccines you take. 2. You are only against mandates for the covid vaccines that means you support government mandating vaccines like Polio, Chickenpox etc... I ask this question because a lot of the arguments I hear use words and phrases like "Freedom", "Right to Choose", "My body my choice", etc... and I wonder where you all those years your state or governments have been mandating vaccines. Have you been fighting the oppression the whole time or did you get the shots like everyone else? If you are only against the vaccine because you do not trust it for medical reasons then you should not be using the "Freedom" rallying cries because you do not support freedoms for those other vaccines. Do not argue against mandates because you obviously support the mandate ideology but argue against the covid vaccines from a scientific standpoint.
