I wanted to start a thread about a type of bigotry I believe most of us have to some degree or another, at least if you are a licensed highway driver. I know that ever since I started driving at age 16, I observed over time that I developed certain attitudes about specific types of vehicles I would encounter on the road.

The first vehicle I put on my Beware List was a vehicle similar to this:

A 1979 Cadillac Coupe De Ville, a gorgeous vehicle with a lot of plush comfort and luxury for its time, but one thing I kept observing over and over again on the highways and roads of Florida was that you had to be extra cautious when they appeared in the rearview mirror, or you had one in front of you.

Cadillac drivers had an affinity to drift across lanes, drive far below the speed limit, or make wide right turns. There was something about the vehicle that made me wonder why such bad drivers owned them. It was later I discovered one of my high school teachers had a Caddilac like the one pictured. One day, as I saw him driving it, and it donned on me that the vehicle was responsible in a very subtle way of turning good drivers into bad. It did this through its luxury leather seats that were so soft, drivers tended to slouch, resting their right arm for support on the center console. This I later learned was called The Detroit Lean.

So even though I liked the shape and comfort of a Cadillac, it made drivers soft and arrogant. I did not want to be associated with that, so my bigotry became an axiom.

Of course, my bigotry list has grown over the years, it includes Mercedes Benz, BMW "Beemers", and lately Teslas. I will go into greater detail on those later, but, what about you? Are there some vehicles you will never associate with because of the biases you've developed over the years?

Oh, and please, don't limit yourself to just cars, there are motorcycles, RVs, and boats on trailers too, I guess.

People who drive too close to my tailpipe is my greatest hate.
Can be any type of vehicle but big SUVs and delivery vans seem to be disproportionately represented.
I'm not above brake testing people to get them to back off.
