    Guns don't cause violence. If 'gun violence' is cultural, its because violence is cultural. And if that's true ...it only means decent law abiding Americans have a greater responsibility to be prepared to defend themselves and their communities from the aggressively, 'culturally' violent. With defensive violence, if and only when necessary.

    You don't understand how the constitution works. In order to change the constitution, either 2/3 of the Congress or 2/3 of the state legislatures must agree and then 3/4 of the state legislatures must ratify.

    And that will never happen with guns. So you can give that bs up.

    That same Sky Fairy offered a promised land to s/his followers. How's that working out? No Heavenly sourced thunder blots I have seen.     You speak as someone who is wholesale ignorant of our founding. Here let me quote you from the Declaration of Independence:

    "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed"

    Our rights are not given by the constitution. They are secured by such. However even if you remove those securities, you do NOT remove that god given unalienable right.

    Nope. Because the threat of having our guns removed is far worse than the threat of keeping them.

    Because arsenic is a dangerous substance with no benefit or advantage to having it legalized for ease of use.

    Let's assume China wanted Australia. They stomp out your pathetic little military. Then what? You're up **** creek without a paddle and you'll either be subjugated or murdered with absolutely no ability to fight back.

    Now let's assume they wanted the US. Not only would they have to defeat the most advanced military in the world, but in order to do so, would require an invasion. And as is attributed to Yamamoto (though that's not necessarily the case) the quote is still true. "You cannot invade mainland America because if you do there will be a rifle behind every blade of grass."

    We might lose. But we will exact a terrible price on our invaders. You will just submit or die. And maybe you're submissive enough to do so. But I am not.

    Wait... lets say I took an oath to protect and preserve the constitution, and then the constitution was amended to allow the enslavement and abuse of minorities (or something equally horrific). Would you still say 'but you took an oath!' or would you say 'you took an oath to a DIFFERENT constitution'?

What are you going to do when China realizes its economy is in the ******* and they have hundreds of millions of military aged men who can't find wives because the communist party spent decades murdering any excess girl babies who were born (because their people weren't allowed to have guns and couldn't resist the policy)

    What are you going to do when they realize the only way to save their economy is through war and conquest?

    Are you so delusional as to believe that war can't come? I mean granted nobody wants that shithole of a country you have that's like 90% outback, but what if they did? wtf are you going to do about it?

    What are you going to do when they realize, "Hey we can just take Australia. There's nothing they can do about it. Their military wouldn't last a month against us and their people have no guns."

    When the world saw Biden’s mental issues during the debate everyone saw the truth Republics had been saying for years. When the world saw Trump narrowly miss a bullet to his head the Hand of God was self evident. America was founded on a deep Christian belief as seen in our Constitution.     See here's the problem. You are more concerned with the short term than the long term. To you it's more important to stop or at least curb individual gun violence. To me it's more important to ensure that we have the ability to keep our rights and our freedom in case the unthinkable does happen as it's happened an innumerable amount of times in the past.

    The problem with that is, the more inability you have to fight back, the more aggressive your own government becomes. Perfect example Covid.

    You don't have a gun and your government knows that. So they had no problem locking your ass in a house or a hotel against your will for weeks on end during Covid. They had no problem denying you the right to see your family members who were in the hospital dying from a kidney disease or a car accident because you might have Covid.

    But they had to consider that carefully here. Because if they step out of line too far, they might get slapped.
