Why would you care? When the taliban got our bio database in Afghanistan and started using it as a kill list Brandon supporters didn't care at all.

You know, it gets more confusing to understand how Liberals view Trump everyday. If Trump were a puppet, Putin literally had the world's most powerful military at his fingertips and yet Putin chose to do...nothing with his political puppet? And now the interpretation is to "keep him from having to make decisions he didn't want to make"?

I suppose now Liberals will double back to "damaging the institutions", but the institutions were not necessarily damaged by Donald Trump. They were damaged by actors who acted, if we say they acted in good faith then to use an Obama term, they acted recklessly and without abandon and as a result, they damaged their own institutions.

The attempt of blaming the consequence of their actions on Donald Trump, is precisely the reason why those actors shouldn't be in power and were relieved of their duties. To have people whom blame others for their own ineptitude, means that our government is weakened by their presence. Unfortunately as seen with Afghanistan, there's still way too many incompetent hangovers who get to hang on the tit of government.

But the covers at least have been uncovered. The institutions will be "damaged" as long as they themselves continue to refuse to live up to the institutional standards.

Love the "if they don't invade first" part :) Don't think itis too late though .. and better late than never.

Interesting move by Putin to parade his nukes around - reminding folks that this perhaps is not a joke... but also just a move on the board .. perhaps inviting a summit ..

Tough to say what going on in the background . remember when Kennedy had the Russians keep secret that he agreed to pull missiles out of Turkey ..

Some interesting history to take note of .. which may well repeat.

Yes, let's take all Kremlin statements as coming off of the mountain in stone....

But that statement doesn't contradict this thread, as there currently are no "concrete plans" for a summit. The thread said both leaders agree "in principle" to a summit meeting and there will be a meeting between SOS's this week, presumably to try and set a date and time for the meeting, which again, I assume will not be in person, but I'm prepared to be surprised...

    So easily fooled by propaganda...

He has been trying for months to secretly organize a fake attack in Donbass to accuse the Ukrainians of killing pro-Russian civilians.

But then again, you're going to tell me that Biden is wrong to warn the world about this maneuver.

    False.

There were 11 missile tests AFTER the Kim-Trump meeting.

this is really in Putin's hands, Putin wants Russia to be seen as a superpower again, Ukraine is just a proxy for this, he may not even really want Ukraine, just for the world to take notice of Russia, he has accomplished that already, so that may be it for now, but it's not over, he may do the same in another 5-10 years, wash and repeat

Neither Trump or Biden is the best of the best, that is for sure, but Biden has better people surrounding him

in 2024, let's not elect elderly old men again, let's try someone younger

Well, Trump was doing his bidding by weakening NATO and Ukraine. He defacto setup Vlad's move today and Vlad likely only waited to act because he wanted Trump to have a second term.

I would just replace the phrase "weakening" with "attempting to weaken".... I don't sense that NATO or Ukraine are any weaker due to the actions (or non-actions) of what's-his-face.... it's even distinctly possible both are slightly stronger today, which of course Dingus will try and sell as his ultimate goal in the first place...

Sure, I would say he weakened NATO in the eye's of 25-30% of Americans, his supporters. But, that's still huge.

Interesting take, Trump put's heat on NATO allies to do what they agreed too (2% of their GDP to go to NATO defense), like America, somehow means "Trump was doing his bidding by weakening NATO and Ukraine". Takes some serious mental gymnastics to reach that conclusion.

Not really, think it through. BTW, the 2% and when it would be paid was exactly at the timeline setup by the Obama Admin.

Personally I think Putin just blinked. There is absolutely nothing stopping Putin from going into Ukraine. Could there have been some back room talks for this, certainly, but the world is watching, Putin has all his pieces poised, yet no move. That said, this gives Ukraine even more time to bolster it's defenses.

Putin doesn't attack Ukraine 'cause Putin doesn't want Ukraine. Putin only wants to safeguard the welfare of the eastern Ukranian separatists who're being bombed and starved by Ukraine.

Mind you, this is a guess. It's a guess made from critical thinking and a lack of bias (I don't think there's been much critical thinking or lack of bias in American government's handling of Russia V. Ukraine, right now).
