A primary is used to select a nominee who will then accept the nomination for President, pick a running mate and then campaign for office. Without voters getting a selection and a choice to decide, then this is not really Democracy now is it? lol

That is how we have been doing things for a long time and it has worked pretty well. That is, until the DNC decided to change rules and just "install" candidates. Funny that it is the DNC being the least Democratic of the two parties.
